Sure Tommy Eye is most certainly British (I mean he is a white boy from the south coast of England who is quite happy with a tea and a batch of Hobnobs), but this is so much MORE than just British Hiphop.
Take the brand new album (produced by Hi-Sonorous, www.hi-sonorous.co.uk), the idea was simple - taking artists such as Jay-Z, Kanye and Common as a starting point, it moulds a sound alluding to, but not imitating the American commercial sound, nodding to the distinctly British nature of Tommy's voice and lyrical style.
Just listen to what came out! Something fresh, individual, accessible to almost all genres of music, and something the British Hiphop scene so needs.
