Tommy Gustafsson & the Idiots started off as a side project in 2002. Da Skywalkers had recorded their second album and the members needed to blow off steam I guess and do something spontaneous and fun. It ended up in a mini-CD with 6 songs.


In 2006 TGATI, after DSW had said their goodbyes, the side project got started up again and Tommy, Chris and Richard went into the studio and recorded 11 songs for a full length album. It never got released after some difficulties with a record label that shall remain nameless ;) Instead 6 of the songs ended up on a split record with Subwaste. No full length, but hey!


Writing songs for the new album, Eastern State Penitentiary, was a long haul. Some members didn't have either time or interest for the input it takes, and the project came to a halt many times. Members had to be switched and when the dust settled Chris had been replaced with Robert. Mr. Borg got an opportunity to play the genre he most desired to play, and what the heart wants it should get, and all the luck to him! All his hard work for each song on the new album is never gonna be over looked.


In came Olle Pettersson. By this time TGATI had decided to do something entirely new with the sound of the music. Doing it like we always had wasn't something we desired to repeat. What that sound is though... Well, you're gonna have to get the record to find out ^^


The record should, if everything goes as it should, be here summer/fall 2010!
