Tommy Katona & Full Blast is a Dallas based blues/rock trio fronted by 25 yr old guitar virtuoso Tommy Katona. Tommy, one of the finest as yet undiscovered guitarists in the country, has been playing for 18 years and performing for 15 of those years, primarily in Europe until 2008. Tommy Katona has opened for Johnny Winter in Finland, headlined a major blues festival in Italy, and most recently opened for Andy Timmons and Edgar Winter. Tommy has shared stages with many greats such as Big Bill Morganfield (Muddy Waters son), Mick Taylor (Rolling Stones), Alan Haynes, Tommy Shannon, Joe Kubek and many more.
Tommy Katona & Full Blast specialize in expertly recreating the hits of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top, Albert King, BB King and more and do so with greater skill and authenticity than any of the region’s, so-called tribute bands. Tommy also has an expanding repertoire of original music from his first European CD release entitled “Let Your Fingers Bleed” as well as from his current recording project. The solid rhythm section backing Tommy are Clint Hooks on drums and vocals and Tim Neilley on Bass Guitar. Both are long time respected musicians with extensive studio and touring credits and, with Tommy, are recognized as top notch players among their peers.
