   About Tommy Palmer
BIO

Tommy Palmer started singing in the late 60's early 70's to his parents’ records. Anything from Santana, CCR to Tom Jones. Inspired by a great drum beat his interest quickly turned to the drums. In 1983 he hooked up with some friends from High School and formed a band where Tommy was playing drums and singing back up vocals. In 1988 Tommy formed Triple Threat. In this band Tommy was playing drums and singing lead vocals. This band did a great deal of writing and this is where Tommy started to hone his songwriting skills. They had a few line up changes but the band went strong for 3 years and played many shows. In 1990 Tommy hooked up with another songwriter in Sacramento, Kris Keefer. They wrote many songs together and did some recording as well. In 1992 Kris introduced Tommy to some friends of his that lived in Santa Rosa who happen to be looking for a drummer. He set up an audition and Tommy joined the band Strikes Twice. This band was involved in writing as well and full of talent. "I learned a ton from those guys and I miss them a lot". They were together for 2 years and they played all over the place in the Bay Area, Sacramento and Reno. They were the opening act for Mickey Thomas, Jonathon Cain, Eric Martin, Gregg Kinn, Night Ranger and The Tubes. At the end of 1994 Tommy moved back to Sacramento, commandeered his dads’ acoustic guitar and started writing......a lot. In 1999 he started playing local pubs and coffee shops to started getting his music out to the public.

In 2000 he released A Reason To Believe. This CD contains 11 original songs that were written between 1999 & 2000. and is available on Amazon.com and at Border Books and Music. After a year and a half of playing acoustic shows and promoting the CD at places like the California State Fair, Borders Books and Music, Elk Grove Brewing Company and weddings, Tommy took some personal time away from music. In late 2006 he started to call friends that he used to play with to try and start another band. He hooked up an old bass player, Jason Friend, who said that the band he was in, Work Project, was in need of a singer. Tommy auditioned for the band and knew right away, "after about 30 seconds", that these were some great players. This band is still going strong and they are playing shows around Sacramento and Marysville. After being in this band for about a year now Tommy decided that he wanted to get back out and do the acoustic shows to showcase his original music and is currently booking shows and writing new material. "It's a huge part of me. kind of like my left leg, I'd be lost without it".
