Sounds Like
Take Paul Simon, Dave Matthews, John Mayer, and David Grey. Mix them together and throw out any preconceived notions. You're left with creative songwriting full of beautiful melodies and hooks... add the soft touch of the south and you have Tom Rhodes.
With the upcoming release of his new album "No Apologies", Tom Rhodes
has taken himself out of the acoustic singer/songwriter genre and thrust himself
into the world of rock and roll. Originally from Houston, TX, but now hailing from
Brooklyn, NY via Washington D.C., Tom Rhodes has been playing music for a living
since he was 16 years old. Now 10 years into his career he has established himself
as one of the hottest and most versatile artists in New York, and will be hitting
the road again in the summer and fall of 2006.
Coming off a very busy year in 2005, including the release of his first self
released solo album and multiple tours of the U.S. and UK, there are no signs
of Tom slowing down. In January he was holding down residencies at New
York hotspots Southpaw and Rockwood Music Hall. He has been one of the main
members of the acoustic collective Whiskey
Breath, hosting shows and being the life of the party.
So now it's back on the road with his new band, new songs, and his same fun
loving outlook on life. Slugging it out the best way he knows how, you can hear
Tom rocking in halls from Texas to New York on one of his upcoming national
tours. If you can't make a show you can go online and listen to cuts off of his
new album and see pictures from shows at his website http://www.tomrhodesmusic.com,
or you can just sit there with your head in the sand and wait for the party
bus to pass you by.
Tom Rhodes you are the fucking coolest! I am proud that I somehow ended up with your name too. Long may you run brother, long may you run! Stay Strong- TR

I thought i had something witty to say. Nope. Nada, zip, zilch. BARREN. I've been tried and found wanting. I am minus. Thanks for giving me food and shelter, for the better half of a week, that was nice of you. You my friend, and that's cool with me.
I had a damn good time talking to you during last nights show at BlackHorn. You definitely converted my friends into fans. I personally enjoyed the G.Love cover more then when they play it. I'll be bringing some more friends with me to Wormwood's to expose them to your dank sound on Wednesday. You got me a bit curious about their absinthe last night too. To my knowledge it can't have thujone in it and serve it in the US but I can still hope. Well take it ez and I'll see you at Wormwood's.
