Greetings, I'm Tom, this is a page for me AND my band, obviously I don't view myself as an entire orchestra, that would be silly. I'm a Saxophonist/composer currently residing in London, although originally from the Shire of Oxford. As a freelance player I have played with various Jazz and pop artists (Matthew Herbert, Laurence Cottle, Paul McCartney, Tom Jones) and am currentlyworking with triple latinum selling uk band HARD-Fi and JAMIE CULLUM, where I play Saxophones, Keyboards, and sing BV's.
I also run a jazz orchestra (TRO) in my "Spare time" which I set up whilst studying at the Royal Academy of Music. TRO have played exclusively in London for the past couple of years, but 2007 will see their debut record on the Candid label which will feature lots of excting collaborations with various special guests, and hopefully touring will ensue upon it's release... The music, which is all original, embraces many different genre's and the album will feature various extras such as downloadable scores etc... Influences are coming from: Maria Schneider, Gil Evans, Satie, Matthew Herbert, Kenny Wheeler, John Taylor and Vince Mendoza to name a few notables. The mp3's I have posted are from the band's first gig back in '04. I have messed with the tracks a little. Almost every member of TRO has their own original projects on the go, so it's a really creative environment to play in. The full potential of the orchestra has yet to be fully unleashed. The record will be released on November 11th at the Spice Of Life. It's going to be a busy year... Hope you enjoy the tunes!
