I am a recording studio engineer/producer and proffesional musician and have been in the business of making music for quite a while.
About me as the Recording Engineer & Producer
Fortunately I have had the pleasure of working with some very talented artists. I am equally comfortable on both sides of the glass Whether I am in the control room or in the boothe recording. Being in the producers seat I take the role of the overseer of the creative process of making a record as well as the financial aspect of budgeting a record. It would be best to think of me as sort of a consultant in the recording process. I'm a second set of ears, someone that can discuss a song with you and make suggestions. Ultimately its always the artist that decides what goes on thier album I am there as a guide to help you realize your vision. As the engineer I push the technology that is available as far as it can go! I use tried and true methods to capture/record sound as well as some of my personally developed methods too. One of the things I find that best benefits artists is pre production. Taking the time to hear the song before its recorded like going to a rehersal and throwing a mic up and getting a snapshot of the song in its raw form. Or taking acoustics and jamming it to hear it stripped down. This gives us the starting point where we can begin to see what form sonically your music is going to take as well as getting comfortable working together. When it comes to mixing I am comfortable working with artists side by side on a mix or if they want me to rough the mix in and then come in to make the final tweaks to the mix thats works too. I have worked with artists that have recorded material that just want to remix there work with me and I have also worked and been in it from beginning to the red book master. About me as the Professional Musician
I am a professional drummer/percussionist and have been doing studio session work for over 8 years. I am comfortable in and versed in many styles of music. Getting great sounding and great feeling drums is essential in making a good recording! Its the hardest instrument to record right, so many pieces so many options. Some of the people I have worked with have sequenced drums on thier demo/album that just need to be replaced by the real deal. Other artists have no recordings and need someone to fly by the seat of thier pants and jam a song into form and record it. Either way I am comfortable at getting the right sounding drum tracks with the right feel.
