Tom Whyte grew up in the Glen of Aherlow, a valley between the Galtee mountains and the Sliabh na Muc woodland hills in Tipperary. He moved to Dublin in 2006, and began playing his songs around the city. Tom's style has been influenced by American folk music (including Woody Guthrie's songs), Irish singers like Christy Moore and his stints in rock bands (Tom presently plays in the Undecided School.) These influences, along with his subtle but honest use of his native accent, create a truly distinctive style.

Hey Mr. Whyte, hope you're both faring well in our lovely capital. Steve, Gerry, Giles and I have finally taken the plunge and are now living together in sin in Bohermore. Anyway, the latest incarnation of the band, including me replacing the infinitely more talented Mr. Furey on bass, are playing in the Quays on 3 December. If you can make it, we'll sneak you into the V.I.P. section, where security'll protect you from the plebs, regardless of their attempts to paw, squeeze or, indeed, throw their undergarments at you.
