About me: My aunt has been missing since 8/21/07!!!
Elizabeth Antoinette Barrett boarded the 4:15PM bus headed to Greensboro, NC from the Peter Pan Bus station in Springfield, MA. She arrived at the NYC Port Authority at 8:15PM. She was to have a 40-minute layover at the Port Authority in New York City and board a connecting bus headed towards Richmond, VA, we don't know if she ever made this connection because the Greyhound customer service did not know that information. According to the company they don't have manifest of passengers on their buses. I was told I had to wait for the driver to mail in the tickets stubs collected from the passenger, which then would have to be input into the system this process could take a week or two weeks. It's been 16 days and we are still waiting!!
We filed a missing police report with our local police department in Springfield on Thursday 8/23/07, which up until 8/28/07 were doing nothing to investigate it, until I contacted Mr. Henry Thomas, who is the President of the Urban League in Springfield, MA. He then contacted the Commisioners Office and the media and the investigation seem to be moving. According to the Springfield Police they can prove that my aunt did make it to the NYC Port Authority and thats were it goes cold. We don't no if my aunt made her connection bus because Greyhound doesn't have that information and NYC Port Authority police aren't really helpful.
My aunt's luggage and purse arrived at the Greyhound Bus terminal in Greensboro, NC on Thursday 8/23/07 at 5:00PM, which was 1 day after her expected arrival time of Wed. 8/22/07 at 9:00AM. According to a Greyhound employee in Greensboro, NC, her luggage was put on a bus in NYC headed towards Richmond at 8:21AM Wednesday that's over 12 hours after she arrived in NYC. Greyhound could not provide me with no more information.
The NYC Port Authority have been very uncooperative with this investigation and in my opinion have an "I don't care" attitude. We are getting mixed signals from the police department here and in NYC. The police in NYC refuse to give us any information about my aunts case. They keep telling me that they pass all information they receive to the Springfield Police, who in turn say they are not giving them anything. We asked to see the surveillance tapes in the NYC Port Authority but we were told that the footage was horrible and unrecognizable. In the meantime, my aunt is still missing!
I've contacted CNN and other major global news network station and received no response in return. I ask my self what does it take to get a missing black woman on CNN, Dateline, or other news networks of that magnitude. I hate to even make it a discrimination issue but as the days go on I can't help but to think if my Auntie Toni was a white woman from the suburbs, would we be having this same issues?
My aunt isn't perfect she's had her fair shares of ups and downs and I can't help but to think that's what she's being judge on. I don't care what she's done in the past, she's still someone's a daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend. My aunt loves her family and we love her. She wasn't high on drugs, upset, depressed, or running from any issues in her life. She was just going home!
At this point, my family and I are mentally and physically exhausted. We desperate to get this information out there, hoping that someone has either seen her or knows someone who might have been traveling that day. If you have any information you are asked to contact Officer Robert Taylor at 413-787-6360

Whoever came up with this one must have had
some Divine guidance!
Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame
Even when the times are hard
Fierce winds are bound to blow
God is forever able
Hold on to what you know
Imagine life without His love
Joy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee
Move out of 'Camp Complaining'
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship
To 'thank' is a command
Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
X alting God most high
Yes, there'll be good times and yes some
will be bad, but...
Zion waits in glory...where none are ever sad!
'I AM Too blessed to be stressed!'
The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between
your knees and the floor.
The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything.
Love and peace be with you forever, Amen.
PS: GOD LOVES YOU....PASS THE WORD ON TO MORE
FRIENDS AND ASK THEM TO CONTINUE TELLING OTHERS THAT GOD LOVES THEM TOO.
JUST THINK OF HOW MANY PEOPLE THAT COULD BE REACHED OUT TO AND BLESSED WITH THESE WORDS.
Three billion people on the face of the earth go to bed hungry every night, but four billion people go to bed every night hungry for a simple word of encouragement and recognition.
