I've been playing guitar and singing for over 30 years. At least two nights a week I go out to play music in public.
On Monday nights I'm at the Malt Loaf Pub in Conwy for the weekly Conwy Folk Club On Wednesdays I'm at the White Lion in Llanelian yn Rhos at a Bluegrass/Old Time/Folk singaround.

I sing mostly contemporary 20th & 21st century songs singer songwriter stuff but I do have a tendancy to stray into 40s and 50s R&B and urban blues . . .
I find it quite difficult to enjoy the long discussions and examinations enjoyed by some of my friends of classic folk guitars - as a left handed player, I usually can't play them!
Who I'd like to meet: Other amateur or semi-professional singers, musicians, particularly acoustic guitarists of any style, and particularly if they have something to say . . . but not if they're of the teenage angst variety!

Contemporary Mythology
The wasteland theory contends that all would be a wasteland inhabited by savages were it not for the intervention of contemporary civilization.
The term "civilization" creates a convenient distinction between savage and contemporary man. The savage is obviously incapable of comprehending this concept and civilized man is rarely, if ever, called upon to explain it. Yet free to use it limitlessly to justify whatever he chooses.
And so the language of the poet and the lyricist becomes either the rambling of the wasteland savage or a brilliant linguistic exercise of a perceptive, sensitive contemporary genius. You decide . . .
