Американский контрабасист, композитор и бэндлидер.
Вот уже более 30 лет он является ведущей фигурой нью-йоркского бита и современного джаза. Он выступал и записывался со многими известными музыкантами, в том числе Рэнди Брекером, Дэйвом Веклом, Майклом Волффом, Бадалом Роем, Брайаном Кином, Уолтером Бишопом-младшим, Фрэнком Колоном, Майком Кларком и др. Неоднократно гастролировал по Европе и США с разными артистами и собственным ансамблем, играющим world-beat и современный джаз. Его композиционный стиль сочетает африканский, бразильский и классический музыкальные стили, джаз, рок и R&B.
В качестве бэндлидера Тони выпустил три CD — « New York International», «Eklipse» и «Horizon». Он также является автором книги «World Beat Grooves for Bass», часто пишет о джазе в журналы «BASSICS Magazine» и «Jazz Improv Magazine». В прошлом году Тони гастролировал по России в составе ансамбля перкуссиониста Фрэнка Колона «Wild Shamans». In this day and age, most electric bassists in the jazz idiom choose to dazzle the listener with pyrotechnic chops displays. Such is not the case with Cimorosi- he, in the tradition of Scott LaFaro and Eddie Gomez, accomplishes the very difficult feat of making his bass an instrument capable of evoking an immediate emotional response from the listener.
