Born and raised in east L.A., Tony Dez has lived through and understands the reality that every Latino faces, the hope of a “Promised Land”. With his truthful and politically intoxicating lyrics, Tony Dez defies his people to capture the American dream and make it their own instead of chasing it. It is through this effort to unite the Latino people and to inspire them to recognize their similarities, not their differences, that he has earned the title of “the Latin Communicator”.
“Conkistando Amerika”, Tony Dez’s first solo LP defies all musical styles, boundaries and form. One minute he stays true to his Salvadoran roots with beats such as his hit single “El Macheteo” and the next, Dez transforms into a new age revolutionary describing the political struggle back home in “Nuestra Onda” all the while incorporating his signature west-coast swagger. This is not Reggaeton, this is not hip-hop but rather a new sound, Cumbion, which can only be pioneered and introduced to the world by this unique and distinctive artist. Tony Dez will showcase his sound this summer at Paramount Canada’s Wonderland for “Latin fest” and has also been sought after by journalists and radio hosts worldwide to introduce and propagate his sound throughout Europe, Asia and south America.
Tony has been involved with several charitable organizations such as SOS Salvador where he helps to raise funds and send them back home to El Salvador to better the educational system.
Tony Dez, alongside Project Star Music, is ready to put his mark on the industry by not only launching “Conkistando Amerika” but along with it a vision: To unite talented and humble artists and inspire the world to listen to the sound of a different people, a different history and a different voice. This album is Dez’s dedication to the Latin people, their families and their culture.
