Born in Comanche, TX, singer/songwriter Tony Lane grew up playing the bars in Texas. Lane made the move to Nashville in the early 90’s and has been signed to Famous Music Publishing (recently acquired by Sony) since 1997.
In 1998 he helped Lee Ann Womack avoid the proverbial sophomore slump when she reached 1 with his song “A Little Past Little Rock.” Lane also had another hit by Womack with the Top 10 record “Now You See Me (Now You Don’t)”. Lane hit the top of the charts again when George Strait took his song “Run” to number one in 2001. Lane’s powerful song “Letters From Home” recorded by John Michael Montgomery garnered considerable press and appreciation from country music fans and families of armed service officers alike.
Recently he has had success with the Tim McGraw/Faith Hill duet "I Need You" and the Trace Adkins song "Wanna Feel Something." His song "I Came Here to Live" also appears on the current Trace Adkins album. "A Better Rain" can be found on the latest George Strait album.
Sara Evans included Lane’s song “I Learned That From You” on her double platinum album Born to Fly, and his song “Tattoos and Scars” was the title cut from Montgomery Gentry’s debut. Tony’s other cuts include "That Changes Everything" (Billy Currington), "My Daddy Never Was" (Randy Travis), “This Ole Heart” (Terri Clark), “Bus To Birmingham” (John Michael Montgomery), “That Was Us” (Tracy Lawrence), “Still One

Tony is married to Christina and has two sons, Lucas and Benjamin.
