First thing to mention is that there are two styles of music here. On one hand there's the rhythmic rock'ish sound, I call "non-denominational spirit mood rock", and the other is kindof a new age easy listening, get a massage or meditate or heal to it, kindof thing.
OK.....the band you hear on these sample tracks, and the rest of my albums, is me. With the exception of a couple background vocals, here and there, and a drum fill or soprano sax lead, I've done all the parts myself. I am looking forward to having a group of great players to work with on my next recording, and hopefully, live performances, but for now it's been me, myself and I.
Oh, yeah...there have been many bands in my past. Growing up in Cleveland was a total musical immersion. There was a great band called Bock....then Oedipus Rx.....and a three piece monster group, Dynamite...Kicks, Inc., and on and on the list goes.
At some point I got itchin for greener pastures....so I loaded up the truck and I moved to Beverly...Hills that is.....no not really, I moved to Lake Tahoe and promptly got a gig in a group called, Salvation. Actually it was Janice Weaver and Salvation. We were her back up band for an awesome contract at Harrah's Cabaret Lounge, for an entire summer. We played 3 sets a night, in between other, more famous acts, like Paul Revere and the Raiders, or the Association, or Gina Vanelli, and even the Great Kreskin did his thing. Ok..enough of that. If you really want to know more about that stuff, lemme know.
Now, I live in the Sierra Mountain Foothills. It was a move away from a big city, and thus, a move away from better chances at getting a record deal. But alas poor Yorrick, what's done is done. I still have hope. I still write. In fact I've got enough material for at least 2 more albums. And some of my best stuff is yet to come. I feel the energy growing again...never say never. It could happen...I could make it....maybe I already have (in a parallel universe).
