   About Drummer Tony Natale
He's a professional, experienced, incredibly talented drummer. Growing up in Camden, New Jersey -- the rock 'n roll capital of the world! -- Tony was captivated by the rock and Motown music being played on the radio. As a teenager in Philadelphia, he was a precocious talent, having won first prize in the Carmine Appice Drum competition, judged by the legend himself, as well as by Johnny Winters' guitarist Rick Derringer. The event was sponsered by Ludwig Drums and WMMR, Philadelphia's very own progressive rock radio station. He was awarded a Ludwig drum set, Zildjian cymbals, and earned an appearance on the nationally-televised TV show Entertainment Tonight. His career then continued at a steady pace, and included touring with the historic soul pioneers The Drifters throughout the USA and Virgin Islands. Tony's music teacher, Kenwood Dennard, suggested he relocate to New York City, where he soon became an important figure in the NY music scene, performing, recording, composing and teaching. Tony enjoyed this great city with all of its fantastic musicians, clubs and restaurants. In NYC, Tony found himself on stage with artists such as John Fogerty, Jaco Pastorius, Hiram Bullock and Hank Ballard. Tony's next musical venture was the New York band the Fairytales, with vocalist Susan Rickey and guitarist Vince Conigliaro, and featured his early songwriting skills. The bands video, Ginger, was featured on the Philadelphia area TV show "Stepping Out" and aired nationally throughout the USA. He has achieved further accolades as a drummer with the alternative rock band The Biggest Heaven, as a featured artist on the 1991 New York City Seminar CD, and while touring in support of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Peter Murphy, The Violent Femmes, The Fall and The Fleshtones. He has appeared on TV shows such as Entertainment Tonight, Sesame Street and in a Seagram's wine cooler TV commercial filmed at New York's renowned C.B.G.B's. He then took an opportunity to relocate to London, England for seven years, where he had a fantastic and fruitful experience performing and recording with many different UK artistes.  Tony is a qualified music instructor. He completed a C.M.T.A. course at Goldsmiths University in London, England, where he received a certificate to teach music to adults and was also a visiting lecturer there. He also completed a sound engineering course at Westminster College in London and taught at Northumbria University in Newcastle, England. After touring the UK, Ireland and Europe, Tony eventually settled in Germany, where he set up "Drum Track Studios." This is where he completed his original solo CD titled "Mountain." He continues touring with many European artists and teaching at various venues and schools. International demand keeps him performing, recording and composing in London and NYC on a regular basis. Endorsed by Vic Firth drum sticks for the past 20 years, he demonstrates his passion for these sticks, which he feels are made of the highest quality possible. Tony Natale uses Vic Firth American Rock and 5A drum sticks, depending on the style of music he's playing.  Tony is grateful to have performed with the following artists and musicians throughout his career: Jaco Pastorius, John Fogerty, Hiram Bullock, Hank Ballard (Hit song writer), Al Greenwood (Foreigner), Cornelius Bumpus (The Doobie Brothers), Michael Powers (NYC blues artiste, Rick Derringer, Steve Jorden), Dave Sharp (The Alarm), Marc Daine (NYC session guitarist), Steve Count (Donna Summer), Claire Daly (NYC jazz award saxophonist), Irving Louis Lattin (NYC blues artiste), Jack Daley (Lenny Kravitz, Michael Jackson), Nunzio Signore, David Santos (Billy Joel, John Fogerty), Diane Lotny (Neville Brothers, Dr. John), Brian Mitchell (Al Green, B.B. King, Levon Helm, Bob Dylan), Jon Paris, Billy Hector, Jade Starling (Pretty Poison), Vince Conigliaro, Susan Rickey, John Eddie (Columbia Records), Kenny Aaronson (Billy Idol, John Eddie), John Mizarolli (Ginger Baker, Stevie Winwood, Dave Gilmore, Jim Capaldi, Atomic Rooster), Big Joe Turner (BB King), Pete Brown (Cream), Andy Herbert (Boz Burrell's favorite bass player), Jamie West Oram (The Fix), Polystyrene (X-Ray Spexs), Reg Presley (The Troggs), Gilbert Gabriel (Dream Academy), Jimmy McCarthy (The Yardbirds), David Hadley (Chuck Berry, Jeff Beck), Gwyn Ashton, Ener Bladzipper (The Grandmothers), Damien McCabe, Oliver Campana, Evangelos Economou (Christopher Lee, Brainstorm), Lewis Fielding (Big Joe Turner), Goodman and Narleski, Rich Janice (Gatlin Brothers), Mark Griffith (Eddie Van Halen), Rick Slick Willis (Olivia Newton John), Jürgen Kerth (DDR recording artist, guitar legend), Stefan Kerth, Daniel Bätge (Clueso), Christina Rommel, Eve Gallagher, Olaf Jäger, Jr. Mack, Saron Crenshaw, Jerry Dugger, Stu Daye (Alice Cooper, Nils Lofgren, Tim Curry), Jimmy C. and many, many, more.    Tony's original solo CD "Mountain," released in early 2007, is the culmination of an entire lifetime up to that point on a classic album. It is available through CD Baby, or by contacting Tony directly. The CD was recorded in four locations: New York City, London, France and Germany. Performing on the CD are talented musicians from around the globe and featuring five different vocalists. On the first six tracks, Tony has a unique style of performing on bass, piano, guitar, drums and electronic drumKAT. All artwork on the "Mountain" CD are from Tony's drawings and paintings from the period 1994 – 2007. Enclosed also is a 12-page booklet containing his art, lyrics, stories and adventures about when, where and why the songs were written. "Mountain" is from the heart and soul, and it certainly ROCKS! His hopes are to inspire, energize and uplift all those who listen to his CD.   Most recently Tony has been playing in Germany with "Carne Con Chilli," "Con de Cuba," in London with "The Right Reverend Swifty LeZarre and The Smokers," "Jimmy C. and The blues Dragons," and in New York City with Michael Powers. In addition, he's been conducting African drum workshops at the Evangelische Grundschule in Germany.   Tony is available for hire for tours, recordings, production, drum clinics, and private lessons.  For more of Tony's information, videos and mp3's, please visit his website: www.tonynatale.com
