King, Buddy Guy, SRV, Gatemouth, Billy Gibbons, Albert King, Alvin Lee, Dicky Betts, Ed King, Danny Kashola (who hooked me up with my first "real" guitar, a red '60-something ES 335 with a Bigsby. Then check out Nu Blooze on Reverb Nation. I'm playing lead guitar with these guys now and we're working on some new songs and getting some shows lined up.
I grew up listening to what was then called "Southern Rock" or "Blues Rock" Bands like The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and artists like Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck were my early influences. Later I got in to Stevie Ray and ZZ Top and at the same time began to look back to the source of their sound. People like Muddy Waters, Albert King and of course the King of the Blues B.B. King.
I recently hooked up with a great bunch of guys up here in TN called Nu Blooze. We play some serious rockin' Blues, electric all the way. I couldn't have asked for a better bunch of guys to rock out with. We have some killer originals and do some wicked good covers and old standards. Watch my calendar or visit the Nu Bloooze page and friend us there, we'll keep you up to date with our live shows and studio happenings.
I will still spend as much time as I can in the blues clubs checking out the bands and playing my heart out when I can. After Hurricane Katrina I had the honor of jamming with some of the finest blues artists New Orleans has to offer, people like Rooster, Big Willy Locket and the All Purpose Blues Band, and of course the best and hardest working band on Bourbon Street, my good friends Big Al Carson and the Bluesmasters. If you make it to New Orleans look these guys up, you won't be disappointed.
"Grampy's Girl" Just 3 years old and already she's got soul!
