The Official MySpace of Tony Visconti, Record Producer, Musician, Orchestrator, Recording Engineer and sometime artist.
Tony Visconti, The Autobiography (Bowie, Bolan and the Brooklyn Boy) is available through www.amazon.com (USA) and www.amazon.com.uk (UK) - and possibly in a store near you.
I produced LOTS of records by T. Rex, David Bowie, Thin Lizzy, Morrissey and Kristeen Young. But there are many, many more listed on www.tonyvisconti.com.
In the past year or so I have been recording with Razorlight, KRISTEENYOUNG, Danielle Spencer, Laurie Anderson and The Singhs. I have written string arrangements for Fall Out Boy and Dashboard Confessional. I am slowly working on my own music.
Let me explain my song selection. Because of the way MySpace works, my band account says that all the songs I've put up are by me. To give credit where credit is due, I am the artist who performs Mr. Blue Sky, Middle of Your Heart (with Mary Hopkin on back ups), Nothing Can Be Very Wrong (with Siegrid). Stop Thinking is by KRISTEENYOUNG (seen in her original BUBBLE DRESS), and I produced it. Yet Another Midnight is performed by Richard Barone, co-written and produced by me. Win The Loneliest Guy is a Mash Up of Win and The Loneliest Guy by David Bowie, produced by us, and mashed by me.

hello tony. me and my girlfriend put this together in one day. it's hard keeping a straight face sometimes, doing a 'shoot,' even for me. i like spontaneity, i'm not signed and i'm glad. i can be as honest as i like, if anyone doesn't like it, i won't lose sleep, because at least i'm trying. kubrick was busy, and david lynch was on vacation, so we resorted to d.i.y.
when you can't hold on...............................
You said "Everyone has a different view of history. I missed Steve dearly when he was ousted from Tyrannosaurus Rex. Steve used to stay at my flat in Earls Court. The picture you are using was taken by me during a walk through Holland Park. I considered him to be an equal partner to Marc and I find myself still listening to that period more than the T. Rex period. Steve was incredibly talented."
Many, Many Thanks Tony - It is Hugely Appreciated - Especially today which is Tookie's 29th Anniversary.
I've been reading your interview in "Behind the Glass" recently and was inspired to give my old cassette 8-track one more chance but it was not to be - it's just too far gone!
Yesterday in a record store 2 teenage girls come in at closing time. They ask the store owner if he got the records that they wanted. He reaches below the counter and pulls out LP records of Low and Heroes .The girls are clearly thrilled.Cost of used records $20. Expression on the girls' faces-priceless.
