I've decided to delete my personal account. With Facebook, Twitter, and two other Myspaces, it's way too much to keep track of. So if you notice I'm no longer your friend via my personal account, just add this one. Still though, there were things I liked about the personal account, such as the ability to list favorite authors, etc. So I'll just add all that stuff here:
General Interests: Good beer. Sci-fi books. Science books. Guitar playing. Singing. Songwriting. Filmmaking. Traveling. Rock climbing. Exploring. Learning. Music. Inventing. International film. Secular humanism, skepticism and freethinking. Electronics. Podcasts.
Favorite Breweries: Dogfish Head, Great Lakes, Bell's, Three Floyds, Ommegang, Founders, Goose Island, Stone, Boscos (local)
Movies: Bergman, Fellini, Bresson, Tarkovsky, Goddard, Herzog, Ozu, Kurosawa, Mizoguchi, Powell & Pressburger, Kiarostami, Bella Tarr, Eric Rohmer, Tran Ahn Hung, Wong Kar Wai, Hou Hsiao-hsien, both Rays, Harmony Korine, and lots more. Films: Singing in the Rain, La Strada, Oasis, This is Spinal Tap, The Seventh Seal, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Hukkle, Andrei Rublev, The Wind Will Carry Us, The Green Ray, The Vertical Ray of the Sun, Sawdust & Tinsel, The Magician, In the Mood for Love, Ali: Fear Eats the Soul, Even Dwarfs Started Small, Freaks, Gummo, The Red Shoes, Dark Crystal, and The Life of Brian.

Thomas Paine, Peter Singer, Michael Shermer, Sam Harris (The End of Faith), Susan Jacoby (Freethinkers is excellent!) and most especially Richard Dawkins. The Ancestor's Tale may be my favorite non-fiction book of all time.
"Hearing Tony Youngblood play live, one would think he was raised in the wilderness by a pack of tone-deaf wolves. Someone should really teach him how to play the guitar properly. He flicks it bare hand and bare knuckled, beats, spider-spins, pounds, slaps, strokes and makes strings do unseemly things. Same for singing. He groans guttural, whoops, hollers, and carves the air with a deep, raspy dirge. Nevertheless, it fits. When he’s on stage, the room will get darker or glow brighter – the ale will taste sweeter or more sour -- and the end of the show, you won’t know exactly what you’ve heard, but you will know this: you’ve heard something real." -- Sly Happershat, author of several books and pamphlets.

Hey Tony! I really, really wish that I could come to the show this weekend. I still don't have a car though! Blah! But if you don't have plans Tuesday night, The Factory is playing at the Exit In.
Alright - so it turns out I'll be in California by the time your show starts - sorry!!!! I thought I was leaving a day later! I know it won't be the release next time, but if you want other gigs, I'm game. With that lineup I'm sure you guys are going to sound amazing.
You're welcome! Sorry I couldn't get to the party - I actually was working, which I forgot. You can hear most of the 'demo' on my page since all the recordings are on it. I sound like shit so be forewarned. Also, I had planned on coming to the show for sure. If you want me to play we should probably get crackin. I don't know how much practice time I'll have, but if you got me a CD (can be a ripped copy - that's cool) I could play in my own time and brush up. What tunes would you want me on?
What's shakin Youngblood? I see your CD release is imminent. That is awesome. Thanks for adding me. I got a scratch demo done over the holidays. Hope all is well!
