Formed in June 2007, TooBoKou has quickly established itself as one of Boston’s best original bands. Combining rock, metal, alternative, and reggae, the band delivers a unique, original sound that breaks away from the norm and gets straight to the point.
Singer/songwriter Glenn Houghton and bassist Dave Ryan both formerly of the band FatCan, began their new project after two years of experimenting individually with other local talents south of Boston. Ryan then recruited lead guitarist and longtime friend Roy Maher. Together, the three compiled a number of songs when coincidentally Ryan ran into former classmate, drummer Jeff Ezrin. Along with Maher, Ryan and Ezrin began developing their sound together during their high school years before Ryan joined Houghton’s FatCan full time.
Since their first show in December 2007, TooBoKou has developed a loyal fan base and “been finding ways to get noticed” as featured in Limelight Magazine’s Spring 2008 issue. They released a 3 track demo in June 2008 which includes "Mirror Mirror", "Take You Home", and "Pill".
With the addition of guitar player Greg Finn, TooBoKou will be recording a full length album in early 2010 as well as continuing to perform around the Northeast and branching out across the country.
