Nashville Predators hockey - NASCAR premier Cup Racing - Exploring new musical artists and listening to those I already know as if they are a pair of comfortable shoes
I've followed NASCAR's premier Cup series since 1975 and have always been a fan of Richard Petty, Kyle Petty, and anyone else who has driven the famed 43. I've visited the following NASCAR tracks in my 30+ years as a fan - but thus far have never seen my Petty teams win. Oh well.
- Atlanta Motor Speedway (in 1992, saw Richard Petty's final race, Jeff Gordon's first race, and Alan Kulwicki win the Cup
- Bristol Motor Speedway (saw Rusty Wallace's first win and Terry v. Earnhardt Round 1)
- Charlotte Motor Speedway (saw Jeff Gordon's and Casey Mears' first wins)
- Darlington Speedway (saw the final Southern 500)
- Daytona International Speedway (saw Sterling Marlin's first win and Dale Earnhardt do a barrel roll and drive away)
- Indianapolis Motor Speedway (saw the Intimidator win)
- Nashville Speedway (saw my first Cup race)
- New Hampshire International Speedway (Road Pigs rule!)
- North Carolina Motor Speedway (Rockingham) (saw final fall race at The Rock)
- Richmond International Raceway
- Talladega SuperSpeedway (saw Davey Allison win his first race and Earnhardt win his last race)
- Texas Motor Speedway (saw Jeff Burton's first win)
... oh, and plenty of Government Cheese for old times' sake
FEATURED VIDEO OF THE MOMENT - "A Little Bit of White Trash" by Jeff Porter
I've talked about it. I've had it as my profile song. Now I'm pleased to host video for Tommy Womack's "Alpha Male & The Canine Mystery Blood" - arguably the song of the year for 2007. This version was recorded by the well-traveled and well-connected Birmingham Steve:

C'mon and visit us sometime in Nashville. We'd love to have you. WHAT? You haven't been here before & not sure if you want to? Why? What's wrong with Nashville? NOTHING! Don't believe me? Well just ask Todd Snider - he'll tell you.
I'm a huge fan of The Silos. Have listened to them since the beginning. The band has had a lot of changes to its lineup, but at its core is Walter Salas-Humara. Its a real shame more folks don't know about them. Here's a sample:
Blue Rodeo - I've been a fan of BR since their debut "Outskirts". Rolling Stone quipped at that time that "the best new American band may well be Canadian". Here are a couple of clips from the early 90s. I'm really glad these tunes have stood test of time because their clothes and hair certainly didn't!
And this may well be one of the funniest tunes and videos of all time - by the Cheese or any other band.
YOU WANTED THE BEST. YOU GOT THE BEST. THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORRRRRLLLD! CHEESE!
Thanks for the comment, brother. What can I say? Some guys golf 128 days a year...some bowl...some hunt or fish. I go to concerts...:-) Hope to see you in '09!

All is well down here, except the mosquitoes. I've been keeping myself busy with all sorts of projects. My latest is a vegetable garden. I'm posting some pics of the results from the first week. Family is great, Entergy is great, Dogs are great...can't complain about anything! :) Tell Jennifer I said "Hello" if you get a chance to see her.
Noone was more surprised than I was. My doctors FINALLY scheduled my surgery for this past Tuesday. so OOPS...God had different plans for me I suppose. We're both so excited and I can't beging to describe how Mom and Dad are feeling....
