............................ ........ ....Too Much Fun .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ........ ..Studio work for the next CD is complete..It will be on the streets by early March......CD Release party at the Carrboro Arts Center on April 23rd. They can jump, they can swing, they can flat out rock......they play the blues, they play from the roots, they are tight, they are loose......one minute it's a tasty four part harmony, the next it's a barrelhouse rocker......from a menu of their own songs and other peoples music....some you recognize and many that you don't...but, the beat always makes you move......the steady rhythm section lays down the platform from which the others can jump off...and they do...sometimes all at once..... They have entertained audiences for over 23 years.....playing for the Triangle Swing Dance Society, The Shakori Hills/Grassroots Festival, Festival for the Eno River, Carrboro Music Festival.......and about every venue in the Triangle NC area....including their CD release at the Cat's Cradle....and from the coast to the mountains of NC....It becomes easily apparent that these guys are having fun on stage.....and.....they are not afraid to entertain themselves by carrying on with the audience..... .. The era of a McCall being the drummer for TMF has come to an end, and we wish Austin all the best as he pursues other endeavors..including PaperHandPuppets .. Throughout it's history the band has had multitudinous (look it up) contributions from former members...Alan Thomas...playing something besides bass these days...Rex McCall...sitting on a couch somewhere...Scollay Whitney...paddling around the waters of America...Pajama Don Harrington...playing stage shows with young women...John Dunkle...playing that harp in colder climates...and piano wizard Jimmy Weaver...still whoring around out there in pursuit of the perfect keyboard gig....... .. ..AS HEARD ON NPR'S CAR TALK...you too can hear...CADILLAC.. .. -
