Toon started in the mid-70tees to find out about music...
Guitars..Drums,, keyboard. All instruments were very "Jurassic" compared to now..
First adventures with local heroes..Than as a humper stagehand at bigger shows with big names...
Early 80tees he finished school, started touring around.. with the "big-shots" from the Netherlands.
Schooled in practice by live music, as backline-tec, monitor-tec, Front of house...
Found out that there was more work to do in music-bizz, that there are light-designers, light-tec's, tour-managers, managers, carpenters, electricians, drivers, coaches, trucks, flight-cases..That there was a whole music world to be encountered..

Yay Toon! We've had a fantastic time on tour in Europe this year, especially our Benelux shows. We're now recording our new album in Berlin (scheduled for release in March). But for now here's a big (and silly) Merry Christmas from us (and from some hippos too) :
Some bold new artistic direction? Nah, Just us being silly!!! We did this track for our label's "Black Snow - the completely different Xmas compilation". Wishing you a very silly Silly Season and we'll see you again in 2010 before we head back to Australia!

De Mandalaband is trouwens wel iets apart, de goede man maakte 2 obscure symfonischewerkjes in de jaren 70 (met de Moody Blues, BJH & 10cc) ging toen goud graven, schreef boeken & maakte een fortuin. En nu 30 jaar later weer een kunststukje, wederom met een lijstje aan muzikale vrienden, oa Troy Donockley.

Ondertussen ga ik wel nog bandjes spotten, zie mijn blog voor een agenda van de bandjes in NL de komende maanden. Marillion (8 oct), Iona (23-24 Oct)(ze waren erg goed afgelopen zondag), Riverside (26-10)(in de Auw Kerk te Bunde, het Paradiso vh Zuiden!), Parzivals Eye + Sylvan en natuurlijk de X-mas shows van Mostly Autumn zijn de volgende. Mmm ga Porcupine Tree dus missen.... er is gewoon veel te veel de komende maanden. Waar ga jij nog heen?

Voor mij is het nu rustig, pas in Augustus, de 16de; The Bad Shepherds (punk covers met fluit & uillian pipes (met Troy Donockley)) in Eindhoven en 3 September Ulysses & Sons of Seasons in de nieuwe Nor (een mix van stevige Prog, Jazz en metal met leden van Kamelot, Blaze, Doro Metalium).
