   About The Once Over Twice
Started as punk'n'roll trio, Chomsky, in 1997. Recorded album 'Big & Clever'. Line-up and name change to HBBH in 1999. Recorded (unreleased) mini-album at Soundhouse and (also unreleased) single 'Swing Like Children' at Sawmills Studios. Another line-up and name change to The Once Over Twice in 2000. Released EP 'Strikes & Gutters' on Org Records: Steve Lamacq producer's Single Of The Week, KKKK Kerrang!, 8/10 Rocksound, and many more. Played shows and mini-tours around the country. Released album 'Special Moments To Detonate Themselves' in August 2004 on In At The Deep End Records (www.iatde.com). 'The most viciously infectious album you'll buy all year bar none' Drowned In Sound; 'Aggressive, complex yet overwhelmingly accessible' 4/5 Big Cheese; 8/10 Rocksound; 5/5 Rancid News; 4/5 Punktastic; 'Stunning' Fracture... More UK shows and mini-tours including some rescued dates from aborted UK tour with The Letters Organize in 2004. Planning to release recently recorded single 'From What Is To What If?' next year alongside 10-date UK tour with labelmates Hitechjet in February 2006. Have songs for second album recorded. Will they ever be released from the trappings of the recording studio?. . . . . Check the blog above xxxx

Coombeshead Studios are now looking to take on summer 2008 recording slots. If you are in a band and need a professional recording, we offer sessions at just £12.50 an hour on weekdays and £20 an hour on evenings (after 6pm) and weekends. All this paid time can be spent recording - mixing and editing can be done afterwards at no extra charge. If you wish to arrange a session, please message us and we will give you a list of available dates. Check out our top friends for examples of the recording quality, and the ’music’ section to see who we have worked with!

We also offer CD duplication at between 75p and £1.50 per CD for most requirements. This gets you a case, a print directly onto the CD face (no stickers!) and inlays. Contact us with your requirements for a quote.
Recordings do not have to be made at Coombeshead to qualify for this offer - if you already have recordings let us know and we can provide duplication for you!

Hello all,
Been some time since i've written anything from this site. as you may or may not have realised by now, some time ago geographical and life situations meant that the city ghosts are no longer functioning as a group, and are on an indefinate hiatus. Who knows if we'll get together to record unfinished bits and bobs or do a couple of shows in the future, but for now i guess its quits. I've been reluctant to write anything here cos i was kinda gutted about it, but such is life.. Anyway, now i have, i thought i'd send out a bulletin or two and put up a blog to say thanks if you ever checked us out, put us on, played with us, listened to our music, or helped us out in any way whatsoever. As we never actually got round to properly releasing anything, i've been thinking about making a diy double cd discography thing compiling the songs we recorded, (of which there are almost twenty in all) some acoustic covers and some live stuff most people never really heard.

If you were ever into us, feeling nostalgic, or are just damn curious or interested in getting hold of a copy, I'm gonna make a bunch with some DIY artwork and bits n bobs, all you need to do is email me with the title 'GHOSTS DISCOGRAPHY' at thecityghosts@hotmail.com or send a message to the page here with your name and POSTAL address, and i shall post one out to you for the fine price of 2 minutes of your time to get in touch.

On a similar note, if ANYBODY has any stories, PHOTOS or memories to share with us of the ghosts, it'd be greatly appriciated if we could get a copy!
We're currently working on new projects so keep an eye out for that..

Thanks for checking this out.

We would like to thank all the bands who supported Coombeshead Studios during 2007. It was our busiest year ever at just short of 100 bands, and allowed us to spend several thousand pounds on some major upgrades, launching us from a low budget studio to a fully professional setup. We continue to offer our low budget prices but offer a greater flexibility of control and greatly improved quality!
