What’s the true genesis of the history of Top Dead Celebrity you say? Well take a gun shot to the neck, 6 months in jail, a few years of beard, and mix in a crazy Mexican. Take this crew and throw them on the road, into a rehearsal space, or in a recording studio and sheer alcohol fueled rock and roll mayhem comes out.
But don’t let this crazy breed of rock and roll monster fool you. They can rock. And rock they do. Mixing styles of Motorhead, and AC/DC with Kyuss, and Artemis Pyledriver, Top Dead Celebrity isn’t reinventing the wheel. They’re just working on their version of the perfect well balanced one that can last a million miles before it explodes.
According to Outburn magazine their self titled debut record released on Exigent “churns out a gloriously fuzzed out racket that kicks whole piles of ass”
2008 brought them a nomination for best hard rock from City Weekly, regional tours, a new member, and lots of volume. 2009 is growing into a monster already for this 4 piece. They are currently recording their follow up album “Ignorant Midwestern Rube” right now with local engineer/producer extraordinaire Andy Patterson. Planning has begun for a spring/summer tour. Make sure to keep a lookout for this Utah based rock juggernaut.
