Lung Cancer research is at the bottom of list and we want to change that. Please help me spread the word and gather signatures for this cause…6,539 signatures is not enough. I have been asked to help get this ball rolling. Please let me know if you can help with a petition list or at least go online and sign the petition. This petition has been started by one of my doctors at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dr. Shiller.

I’m asking all my friends and family to go to this web site and sign the petition for federal funding for Lung Cancer Research National Lung Cancer Partnership and the People of America whose lives have been changed forever by LUNG CANCER.
Lung cancer receives considerably less research funding (about $280MM) from NCI than either breast ($570MM) or prostate ($310MM) cancer. If you translate that into research dollars per death from cancer, NCI estimates that in 2005 it spent $1,708 per life lost to lung cancer; $13,947 per death to breast cancer; and $10,214 per prostate cancer death.
