I was born in Wellington N.Z in 1978, Troy "Topia" Watene.
I had a very early start in Maori performing arts while at primary and high school.
At the age of 16, I move to Rotorua only to find myself back in Hastings a few years later.
I moved back to Rotorua in 2001 where I continued doing Maori performing arts.
It wasn’t until 2003 when I started to write my own music, this I owe fully to the support of my good friends who help encourage me to do so(you all know who you are).
From there it just caught on.
I currently live in Christchurch N.Z. pursuing my career in music.
I’ve been playing the guitar for 19 years and singing for 27 years.
My influences are, Bob Marley, CCR, Metallica, Creed, ACDC,
Boys 2 Men, Fiji, Dr Hook, Eric Clapton, Joe Satriani ect, ect, ect, the list is quiet long.
Also I’m currently working on a few new projects at the moment and hope to have them completed soon.
My favourite quote at the moment:
"To the world you maybe one person,
but to one person you maybe the world"
Sorry to hear about the ps3. lol Things are good. I have been dominating online among other things. Summer is ending here but it doesnt matter, I'll still be playing. :)
