Topnovil ain’t plastic - The scene changes but the people stay the same…
Me thinks I’ve been around the live scene for over 20 years. Not as long as sum and longer than others, many long nights and great shows. I know the boys and Topnovil is a band I grew up with becoming apart of my life. It is huge when a band can mean that much to you. The Lads celebrated 10 years of live shows in 2007 with many top people making the band what it is today. Truth in lyrics while growing up in shitsville, 5 releases, TV and festival performances, I want to grow old with toppy…. They share their lives, their loves and beers through the years. TOPNOVIL has become apart of me, see yas at the show where ya can forget yourself.
Punker BOB
(“action speaks louder than words” Action Boy – DD, Topnovil)
BIO
Coming together almost 10 years ago Topnovil is an authentic aussie punk band in every possible way. With socialist lyrics and fast powerful pace these boys are everything you need for a punk fix. With years of experience Topnovil have put in the hard yards and paid their dues, still rockin out shows and further building their already extensive fan base.
Topnovil provide high energy and intense shows, never giving anything less then their all. Seeing these guys play makes you long for the old school sound-infectious sounds you'll find hard to forget. Not just another Oi band, this bass driven sound with a rhythm and guitar hook in every tune, makes you singin toppy songs when the times are rough
With DD as lead vocal and guitar, Adam cracking on the drums, Lucko making you wish you could play lead guitar as good, and Chris providing the bass vibes, this all adds up to a great band and an even better show They know what it is to ROCK
If you want real punk sounds and a live show that rocks, ......................TOPNOVIL

Band History...
Topnovil are an old skool punk outfit who formed in 1997 after the break up of two other local bands Trauma and Negative ten. D.D, Daim and Ray recruited friend and drummer Sam Shortland and immediatley started writing songs and planning a trip to the recording studio.
They played there first show on the 2nd of May 1997 six days after they formed - they played three originals and three covers and since have not looked back. After a few more local shows they had raised enough to record and independently release their debut cd a 7 track EP titled "Keen as a mule". The cd began selling slowly but after Topnovil played more shows there popularity in the local scene increased as did cd sales.
At the end of 1999 drummer Sam Shortland was replaced by Michael Seddon a guitarist and songwriter who, with the help of D.D, became Topnovil's new drummer. With this change came new songs and new directions.
In the new year of 1998 the boys decided it was time to explore beyond the Wollongong and hunt for exposure in the Sydney market which proved successful and led to tours to Melbourne with Melbourne's successful punk band No Idea. Along with these tour Topnovil were playing alot of local shows and receiving increased exposured from shows such as Kiama's "Blow out" festivals. In November 1998 Topnovil had songs "Scenario" and "Wasted" selected to be on CareFactor?ZeroRekordz compitlation "This is Punk'o'Clock too" along side such bands as H-Block 101, Mach Pelican, No Idea and The last hemeroids just to name a few.
1999 included alot of touring to Melbourne establishing themselves firmly in both scenes and recording for a forthing split release with fellow wollongong band Neveready. At the begining of 2000 the Neveready/Topnovil split cd entitled "4+3=2" was released starting off selling well and because of continued touring to Sydney, Melbourne, The Blue mountains and more recently Queensland is continuing still to sell quite well.
In June 2001 Topnovil released a new five song demo cd "Trash Radio" with their new drummer Adam Brady of Neveready.
At the same time Topnovil were selected to represent NSW with as a finalist with track "Action Boy" in the Channel V Punk Off State of Origin Competition, doing a 30 minute show on "The Gig" - request it if ya want a look....;-p
After scoring the support for the U.S. BOMBS in late 2002 they broke up much to the dismay of all their adoring fans all up and down the east coast!!!! What was with that?!!!! Well their back! Only difference being Michael Seddon - (guitar) is in London so Cohen Brown from fellow Wollongong punk band THE BRAZEN HEARTS took over before Lucko joined the Band and Daim left the band to live life outside toppy. Chris having grown up with toppy now keeps those topnovil bass lines like the old days... In 2008 toppy toured and released Can't Bring Me Down EP so stay tuned, cause the story continues....
