Sounds Like
A couple people talking, usually with a band, about stuff.
New Bio: I thought it was about time to update our bio, as I felt the original didn't really sum up what this show is about. It was just something to throw out there at the beginning to play into the jokingly egotistical name Top Welt! I'm Bill Jones, and it was my idea to start this show. Really since last September, I've been doing entertainment related journalism. I started writing for my college newspaper, then in November I started writing a ton for AMP Magazine (which you should all check out). Along the way, I finally realized what a podcast was, and started listening to a few. Most of them sucked, so I thought I could do better. Obviously, a studio would have helped our cause, but not being bounded to a studio and being able to go out and get the bands we want turned out much better in my opinion. I kind of borrowed the format of Geekdrome, covering a variety of topics. However, because I was much more involved in the music end of things, I wanted to make that the focus of the show. I also have a lot more connections on that end of things, so it makes sense. I immediately enlisted Kevin, as he's really the only person I know with such similar interests in music, movies and games. I also originally got the help of one Krazy K, because I'd heard his college radio show. He had great taste in music, and due to being between Chicago and Eastern Iowa a lot for home and college, I needed someone to help out in Iowa. We debuted with a band that has become a great group of friends, Ryan's Hope. From there, we've put together (I think) on of the most impressive line-ups of guests that any podcast out there has, and there is a lot more to come. We will only have bands on this show that we enjoy, because that's what we're about. We started a "Bands That Asked Us To Play" them section because we got a request to be played and thought it would be a good thing to continue, helping smaller bands out by putting them side by side with a band like Against Me! or Rise Against. Brandon from Division and Honore was originally a fan of the show that wanted us to play his music. Since then, he has created our theme song as well as a number of other bumps that have been used throughout the show. A friend of ours, Sev, is into all that computer-art-type-stuff, so I asked him to make our logo. Our goal is not to be super-flashy and play silly games with each other on the show while you, the listener sits with his/her thumb up your ass, but instead, it is to provide real content, with in-depth interviews and real reviews of music, movies, and games, as well as any news relating these topics we can find. We also all really have a thing for Snakes on a Plane. Whether three or three thousand people listen to the show, we're happy to be making it for you. I think we're all very happy with what we've accomplished having no idea what this was really going to be when we started it. I can tell you right now, the show will not go on forever. I will eventually get locked down to a more real job, people will move, or things will just not work out. However, that's not going to happen for quite awhile, as we have so many more cool things coming up for our listeners, including some truly awesome bands, more contests, and whatever else we can think of. I hope everyone enjoys listening to the show, because I love making it for you.

Original Bio: TOP WELT, essentially, is a reaction to all the bad podcasting out there. We still have to prove ourselves true, but our goal is to make something really worthwhile for people to keep coming back to every week. We'll feature guest bands, music, and talk about movies, video games, and anything else that tickles our fancy? Tickles our fancy? WTF? TOP WELT is quality, on-the-go programming, and I truly hope you enjoy every minute of what we have worked to accomplish.
Woo, we love the podcast and think you guys should keep it up!
Also, (quick bit of self whoring) if any of the people cruising this myspace are bored you should come listen to a small band from the PA suburbs that has about as much street cred as an apple store
Our debut album is scheduled to be released in June. The first single of the album "Halfway Home" will be featured on the off road video Dezert People Cinco and on a compilation CD in the next issue of No Cover. Please vote for us to play Warped Tour by clicking on the image below. We need your help as we are currently in 4th place. Thanks for your support!
Thanks for friending the newest organization in the fight to promote ska at the national level through collaboration amongst the bands, labels, and promoters!
