Only an infant at best, just learning to maybe...speak, Torched Ebony Skies ("TES") exists as a "multi-genre supermedia" project, in which intends to
bring the world of darkness and its many derivatives:
satire, wit, irony, gore + violence, the occult, possible perversion, a little sadism here and there, etc.
into numerous mediums, be it through, namely, a cornucopia of delectable sorts:
music | photography + graphic
art | lyrics, freelance + prose | web design | video entertainment
Torched Ebony Skies is carefully supervised, methodically analyzed, + scientifically monitored, by full-time drones:
Satorn (left), who
founded the sect upon the on the coming of Autumn, 2006 and
later joined by contemporary + bandmate Trigrammaton (right) during early onset of the Summer
days of 2007.
Genre: Torched Ebony Skies was created upon
the basic notion: art for the sake of art. Thus being art, such an abstract concept in its self, the awfully restrictive term "genre" of TES would be beyond words; too impractical for definitions and most definitely unsuited to shallow "labels".
This
further implies that Satorn + Trigrammaton do not seek conscious direction or pull with TES but
allow its own self to be a living,
breathing, thing; to manifest and expel their energies by routinely spoon-feeding the abomination until it grows to be, one day, an independent, self-sufficient + self-serving entity.
Mission: Satorn + Trigrammaton's task and involvement is to simply communicate esoteric and arcane
knowledge passed down from:
» personal experience
» culture + sub-culture
» folklore
» history + the humanities
» generations before us
» cosmic elders
» otherworldly
ancients
and to express these ideas, concepts, abstracts, and/or truths unto...say, musical
and lyrical notation for instance - and to adopt this bastard beast as if it were their own.
So whatever form TES decides to take years from now, Satorn + Trigrammaton, even if somehow unwittingly and unwillingly, will have to accept and succumb to TES' distant, independent need...in time.
...or something or other. They could be brainwashed, or maybe programmed, to believe so. You never know.
Live/Studio: TES, barely a year since its birth, thus far is strictly a studio
endeavor. Given its current infantile state, no official live plans are set.
In due time: through much elongated effort, extreme patience, and ever a slight of hand, this broodling will surely evolve beyond the confines and comforts of the simple bedroom home studio and, most likely and most intended, seek its sight upon the masses + outside world.
To feed...pillage...devour...destroy...defile...and maybe one day reproduce...+ proliferate.
