About me:
We are very proud of our achievements over the past 25 years. Becoming a leader in a competitive industry by offering a low cost shape cutting machine with the same industrial durability as those more costly machines out there. Just as CNC (computer numerically controlled) shape cutting machines have pretty much replaced pantograph machines, we are excited about being a part of this advanced technology for plasma cutting and welding.
In 1980 President Bill Kunz offered the first Torchmate pantograph machine in U-weld-it kit form, selling for $400. The advantage of this low cost Torchmate shape cutting machine led to the machine appearing in an automotive magazine. In 1997 we introduced our Torchmate CNC shape cutting machines. As in 1980, we offered them in kit form to help drive the cost of a full 4' x 8' capacity gantry unit to under $4,000 for a Windows based system. With virtually all the functionality of machines costing many times more, a Torchmate CNC machine can more than pay for itself with a single job.
In January, 2001 we offered our new extruded aluminum Torchmate 2 gantry kit. In September, 2002 we introduced the Torchmate 3, available in either kit form or as a "bolt-together" finished machine. Since then we have developed the Torchmate 4, later replaced by the Torchmate X series. Our reasoning for replacing the Torchmate 4 was one that was based on our own finances as a growing company. We found that the best way to cut costs and bring in more profit is to mass produce our own machines. How else can this be done accurately, reliably, repeatably, and quickly than with an Industrial Robot. Our robot has since already paid for itself.
Many of our customers have built businesses around our machines, and are totally supporting their families from their shape cutting activities. It is a great feeling to know that we are touching so many lives in a positive way. We hope that our new robotic solutions product line will not only do more of the same for our current customers, but also draw in a whole new customer base that can succeed as we have.
