ABOUT US
The Women’s Blues Revue, co-presented by the Toronto Blues Society and Massey Hall, is one of the city’s most vibrant and anticipated annual events. The concert has grown from grass-roots project presented in small concert venues to its current home, the prestigious Massey Hall.

The concert is recorded and broadcast nationally on CBC Radio's Saturday Night Blues. and is hosted by CBC's Shelagh Rogers.

PRESS
CD Review “..the WBR Band is a crack eight-piece unit… The band’s professionalism inspires outstanding vocal performances… There are enough surprises here that even listeners who find blues music of peripheral interest will discover much to enjoy.”
David Barnard
Exclaim! Magazine Toronto [Full Review]

“..dazzling displays by the horn-charged supporting combo...”
Now Magazine Toronto, concert review

"Them gals is better than them fellers I been working with."
Alberta Adams, 80+ year old Detroit blues legend, after performing with the Women's Blue Revue Band.

Available to tour worldwide

The 8-piece all-woman band has become an established group in its own right, performing in concert venues other than Massey Hall, backing vocalists from across Canada.

Our “revue” style shows embrace cultures and styles, framed by a rhythm and blues backdrop. We have performed and recorded with a diverse array of notable Canadian female artists including Ellen McIlwaine, Ndidi Onukwulu, Serena Ryder, Molly Johnson, Rita Chiarelli, Salome Bey, Jackie Richardson, Shakura S’Aida, Lori Yates, Lorraine Segato, Suzie McNeil, Carole Pope, Lee Aaron and Jane Bunnett. We have also backed up Tom Wilson (Blackie and the Rodeo Kings), Paul Shaffer (David Letterman Band), Haydain Neale (Jacksoul) and Divine Brown.
The 2008 concert featured Suzie Vinnick, Shoshona Kish (Digging Roots), Little Miss Higgins, Lily Frost, Elizabeth Shepherd, and Alana Bridgewater.

All the members of the Toronto Women’s Blues Revue Band are recording artists and have impressive music careers individually.
