Sounds Like
A South-American/East-European gypsy jazz band trying to play 'punk', as described to them by a hack journalist in broken English.
Size Johnson, the teetering hub around which Torpedo Buoy revolves, is a playwright and songwright. He has also been a pyrotechnician, fire breather and grave digger. He's performed, in various musical guises and states of soberness and readiness, throughout Europe and in the US, Peru, Argentina and Egypt. Now based in Scotland, but ready and willing to travel if anyone wishes to offer support slots on their world tour.
All things on these here songs played by Size Johnson except for trumpet on Kalashnikov by Reginaldo Dias.
Forget Christmas - just swing the night away! We want you to join us for a "vintage" evening of fab Jazz, Swing and Gypsy music with live band The Magic Number. Let the champagne flow as you dance the night away to the mad rhythms of a golden age...!
Hey bud, yeah was a good night on Thursday, was half way dead on Friday though! I'm afraid I'm busy Friday, that band I think I told you I was going to see, Republic of Loose, well we where offered a support slot with them! So we're playing Capitol in Glasgow. I'll definitely try and make your next show though!
Hey Simon, I know, it's gotten a bit ridiculous! 9 is good for me, shall we try that place "Banter" just near yours? It's only a 5 min walk for me to there anyway.
We've actually moved our residency up town a bit now, starting on Nov 22nd we'll be playing the Voodoo Rooms, we can talk about all that on Thursday though.
Greetings from the Midlands...and thanks for taking the time to check out my tracks...there'll be more eventually, tho not sure when. I've really enjoyed listening to yours, particularly "Kalashnikov"...clearly a force to be reckoned with! Keep it up! Gene.
wassssup doc? nice to meet you,,, again, diggin the choons, thats a good sound you got there, probably catch you again at the open mic night, good luck!, Charlie
Hey man,

Thanks so much for coming down, always good to see friendly faces if an when I look up from me bass!
Top party afterwards too, I made it home as daylight was creeping in, didn't have a hangover though, very very weird!
We should catch up soon dude, maybe for a post-payday pint?
Just been lazin' about in the giant human sized cat basket with cup of tea and listening to your fab music. Hope you feel better for tomorrow. I'm still on this get fit health kick of mine and hoping it will make a difference to my diving!
Hello Torpedo Buoy.
Thanks for adding us. Really interesting and original sound. Like it a lot. If you're around on april 20th, come to our album launch at Henry's.
Cheers.
Alastair.
You should have been there the night Ravi Coltrane played (John and Alice Coltrane's son) - me and Kelbie DJ'd and there was literally no room to move - we couldn't get out from behind the decks!
We've also supported the poet Tom Leonard, ex Miles Davis drummer Billy Hart and I've done Art Show launches too!
Other nights are quieter, however...
Next Tuesday Kelbie & I are doing jazz / northern soul / jungle / beatz thing. We're on from 5:30 to 8pm with the last hour a 2 deck, 2 DJ tune about mix...
