TorQ was formed in 2004 by four young, dynamic Toronto-area percussionists looking to add new energy to percussion repetoire and performance. Since then, they have competed as the sole Canadian representative at the 2005 International Percussion Ensemble Competition in Luxembourg, been featured on CTV news, and will headline the 2007 MusicFest Canada festival in Richmond, BC. Their music ranges from sweetly lyrical mallet quartets to no-holds-barred, high energy percussive show pieces. As well as performing classic percussion ensemble repetoire, TorQ is committed both to commissioning works from up-and-coming Canadian composers, and promoting music education in schools.
TorQ is: Rich Burrows, Adam Campbell, Jamie Drake and Daniel Morphy.
TorQ gratefully acknowledges the support of our sponsors: Yamaha Canada Music, Mountain Rythym, Dream Cymbals, Woodshed Percussion and Innovative Percussion.
