   Tory Skye's Blurbs
About me:
I am one of the fair-haired fortunates of Manhattan where I sashay about with my pet Pomeranian Pluto. I'm dating Reginald Arthur III, lead singer of the Pharaohs. My father Daemon Skye owns Skye Tower. My favorite accessory is a strand of teardrop-shaped pearls.

I'm from an awesome fantasy/scifi series called Polis, where Einstein and Fibonacci live as companions in a baby blanket and lend credibility to the existence of time tunnels and Tunnel Wars. And of a society of ancient immortals called Ringgolds who intervene to aid the mortals in the Tunnel Wars.

So I'm not a frothy airhead. Check out this video with Marvin Gaye:

Visit the book site polisgames.com. Support our brand of relevant, whimsical lit, buy the book on Amazon, or these retailers. Review the book today, and we'll send you a FREE promo item. For writers and other publishing types visit the thebardroom.com, a great networking and resource site.

Dotsy Harland in the October 2006 VOYA, Voice of Youth Advocates characterizes the book as "descriptive and poetic."

Harriett Klausner on Amazon recommends the book to those "looking for something different in their science fiction."

Annie Haws of Euro-Reviews comments, "Time travel, historical scientific personages, and mythology and ancient spirituality are themes tightly woven in this very readable story. I highly recommend it...Rowena Wright is an author definitely to be watched!" She so gets the book! I love that!

John W. Weiss, of CICLOPS/Space Science Institute in Boulder, Colorado, remarks, "Wright has clearly done her research well: as a scientist I was impressed at how accurate the science is." We have proof! I am not an airhead!

Polis promotional hoodieI'd love to hear your comments. So post a review about my book on Amazon.com or BN.com or something, and send me the link at goodreads @ finialpublishing.com and I'll send you a FREE promo item. We have awesome zip hoodies and t-shirts in various sizes and colors, and some great zip totes.

More comments:

Beth Ellen McKenzie at myshelf.com totally appreciated the spirit of the book, commenting, "Much of the beauty and excitement portrayed is based on hard, earth-bound, science, but you are not reading science-fiction. Anyone with a sense of wonder, curiosity and imagination will be engaged by the weaving of the many literary vines."

Karm at snortyville.com puts the book in legendary company, "The writing is clear and elegant. You could draw favorable comparisons between A Loop in Time and the Harry Potter series as well as Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time. All of these books feature misunderstood, talented youths and fanciful distortions of time and space. More than anything, however, A Loop in Time reminds me of Alice in Wonderland, which is high praise indeed."

Jeremy Stafford at feministreview.org comments, "A Loop in Time is more than a science fiction novel meant to entertain young adults with its complicated yet intriguing storyline..."

Douglas R. Cobb at curledup.com totally got the book, "...[the characters] serve as literary archetypes, hearkening back to figures of mythology and folklore...a clever novel written by an author with a great future ahead of her."

the-trades.com: "...an intriguing, exciting, and world-building saga..."

Harriet Klausner comments "...Ericca Ludwig is a delightful protagonist..."

Richard Hawkins at scifi.uk.com comments, "The way it all fits together makes it only once-removed from believable."

Annie Haws at Euro-reviews says, "the reader's suspension of disbelief is consummately performed..."

Katrina Stiles at Alternative-reads.com comments "...I enjoyed it...[the tote] is gorgeous..." I agree!

Rebecca at roundtablereviews.com loved the book: "This is a rather inventive retelling of the myth of Osiris... A LOOP IN TIME is engaging and entertaining. It is a wonderful story to escape into and I often found myself picking it up when I just wanted a break. I'm looking forward to more from the Polis series!"

Ian McCurley at readerviews.com liked it too: A Loop in Time is an imaginative, creative and well-written story..."

'City Smells' is a new literary project set up by the Edit Red Writing Community.

We are running three writing competitions, Flash Fiction, Creative Non-Fiction and Poetry, all with the theme 'City Smells. The winners of each of these competitions will win $100. But more than this, we will take the best work from each competition and compile a paperback 'City Smells' anthology. The writers who make it into the 'City Smells' anthology will each receive free copies of the book and be paid a royalty in book sales.

To submit to these competition and stand a chance of being published in the 'City Smells' book you must be a member of Edit Red, as the submission process is automated. Joining Edit Red and entering these competitions is 100% free. If you make it into the book, we will pay royalties based on book sales.

Edit Red has existed for many years and was created and is still managed today by non-fiction author Alan Emmins, creative writing teacher Chris Lee Ramsden and literary reviewer Sean Merrigan.

If you are not already a member, we hope you will join and take part in this great literary event. Sign up here for free!

A poem for your day:
.
.
Rest In All Love Is
------------------
I love you like this...
dark, i can barely see your eyes...
so dark my eyes are useless. My
heart opens wide its light on you
and your face brightens like the
static on a TV screen, or like the moment
we die and things begin to go all white
and
then
you're an angel laying before me...
the same one that has been there all along,
the one my eyes turned into something else and I
am ashamed I was deceived.
Then,
I see you, I see you like the energy that flows through my limbs,
now, like the breath that takes the universe and
gently creates another, now, like my feet walking
on glass, now, like I was never there.

I love you like I was never there. So gently, never there. In the dark
where I can barely see, and, rest in all that love is.

"Listen to your life.
See it for the fathomless mystery that it is.
In the boredom and the pain of it no less than in the excitement and gladness:
touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it
because in the last analysis all moments are key moments,
and life itself is grace."

Thanks for the invite and yes, I'll admit to JK Rowling too. Unlike many adults I still enjoy the occasional book from my younger years, especially when my brain has overloaded, I'm sick or I just want something fun and easy to read. Of course, my excuse is that I'm buying them for my kids ;-)
