The concept behind "Totally Random" was conceived on a tour bus early one September morn
at the Electric Picnic festival in Ireland when DJ Hannu & LRB decided, after a 2 hour dj
set, that it was just one of those things that "had to be done". The pair struck up a
friendship the previous year at the Homelands Music Festival and with so many shared
influences and similar production techniques it was only a matter of time before the boys
collaborated on a project. Totally Random was the natural progression.
LRB. is one of Ireland's best known dance djs and resident 515 dj @ Tripod sharing the
decks with everyone from Sasha to Dave Clarke, Danny Howells to BookaShade. After a
lightening career promoting what would become some of Dublin's most infamous underground
clubs it was time for the boy to go over ground. He soon had his own show on Dublin's
Nova 947 and it wasn't long before LRB caught the attentions of POD promoter Robbie
Butler and was booked for his first Red Box gig supporting Sandy Rivera. A Red Box
residency was in the bag and sets alongside Tim
Deluxe, Seb Fontaine, Groove Armada, James Zabiela, Tiefschwarz, Darren
Emerson + many more followed. LRB went on to appear at the Witness, Oxygen & Electric
Picnic festivals and makes regular appearances at clubs around Ireland. His debut track,
signed to Monad records was supported by Sultan, Lemon 8, Jondi and Spesh. Not a bad
start!
Hannu, first became interested in djing when a friends big brother
gave him a copy of an early Sasha tape. After hearing "Sterling Void" "Its All Right"
and "FPI Project" and"Rich In Paradise", tracks he has since had the pleasure of
remixing, he was hooked. For more than a decade Hannu has carved out a highly successful
career
as a dynamic professional dj & producer He attributes his achievements to his willingness
to embrace all styles of music. However, House and
Electro are where his real passions lie.Over the last few years he has worked with the
likes of Harry Choo Choo Romeroproducing his UK release of "What Happened" for Slip &
Slide Recordings and has even garnered the support of PVD, Seb Fontaine, Mark Doyle and
Pete Tong for his productions. In the last 12 months his work has been included on both
the 2006 Bora Bora mix CD and Fierce Angels Autumn Compilation.
LRB & DJ Hannu have produced five tracks to date under the Totally Random mantel:Project One, Lover, Electrofunk and a remix of LRBs & Barry Dempseys "Dishesque" on Monad Recordings which is set for release in May and a remix of the new japanese postars track dirty popstars. To date the duo have been concentrating on developing the "Totally Random" sound in the studio showcasing their work in December at Dublin's TRIPOD, sharing with the bill with DEEP DISH. The work has paid off and you can catch the lads this summer when they appear at LOVE BOX and THE ELECTRIC PICNIC 07.There sound is a mix of electro prog house and breaks with some funk thrown in for good measure, oh and they have also just been signed to john aquavivas definitive recordings expext some top tracks out soon
