It is only in retrospect that we can assign some sort of meaning to TOTAL VENGEANCE. One night in June of 2006 the three of us chose a name, not really aware of its ramifications or ultimate intent, but we pressed forward and made music under the guise. We learned how to synthesize and arrange and build, and we always did it in the spirit of TOTAL VENGEANCE.
We had a story at the time, that TOTAL VENGEANCE arose from the moments in time during a conflict in which chaos would take hold and those involved would, instead of having their philosophy at hand, choose to fight for a cause that no longer seemed justified. A time of entropy where it became impossible to distinguish right from wrong and one would instead have to soldier on in the faith that at some point they constructed a rationale that was guiding their actions.
It is now clear that this was and has always been the soul of TOTAL VENGEANCE.
We would assume a schedule and, through laziness, love and at times contempt for one another, blindly stick to it and struggle momentously until at last we reached a dissatisfying end result. We were never as good as we wanted to be, but every thing we did taught us something we will now go on to use in the future. We never got around to recording anything worthy of something we would release and therefore have no real material. We exist only in the metaphysical: in the memories of our minds, the memories of those who have seen us play live, and the memory banks of our gear, merely as disjunctive patches and patterns that only come alive when we coax them to life and contend against disorder to sustain them.
Thus is TOTAL VENGEANCE, whom only in passing gains relevance. One day in the near future, the forces that bind TOTAL VENGEANCE will realign, and, every so often, they will cause our three-fold paths to cross and create something that will eventually exist not only in memetic form but something permanent--something existing in the physical space of reality.
every song TOTAL VENGEANCE records is performed live in the studio. we use synthesizers and sequencers and drum computers to make music. we do live sets with all original tracks.
