About me:
The Toucan is now in its 10th year and currently at its 4th location after leaving the hustle of St Mary Street in 2005 for a more peaceful and intimate location at 95 Newport Rd (formerly Journeys).
Although with a smaller capacity, we still attract up and coming bands and established artistes of all genres...who was it that said there are only 2 types of music, good and bad...well we only host the first type.
We are also available for private hire and can cater for parties and provide great food if required! We have Tapas available every night at the Toucan, prepared daily by our superb Spanish chef Laura. They cost £1 per portion or 7 portions for £5. We guarantee the Spanish Tortilla is the best in town!
Directions to the new nest at 95 Newport Road:
Go along Newport Road with the McDonald Holland House Hotel on your left and past the old hospital, and a little further past the petrol station on the opposite side to the garage. The Toucan is just behind the church, on the corner of Newport Road and Lower Clifton Street.
