LYRICS:
You think it's alright
To destroy God's creation
They don't have a voice so who cares
How we're treating them here
If you read his word you should know
That he blessed them
I know your defense is to say
"God said dominate them"
Do you think dominate means to kill
Just for sport?
Wear the fur from their backs,
Train them for circus acts?
Take our pets to be gassed
Once their "cute" age has passed?
Don't you see in their eyes
How they trust us
But man in his sin turns that trust
Into horrible pain
When God says to man give account
Of your life's work
We must be prepared to reply
"Your creation I loved"
Locked behind steel cage
Forced to take drugs we've made
Cut them up just to show
What we already know
Before they die...
who will hear them cry?
After 11 albums, Tourniquet's well-known stance against animal abuse is stronger than ever. "We feel it's important to look at it from the biblical perspective - of God's original plan for our stewardship of animals - and sadly how far we are from that in many ways" states drummer Ted Kirkpatrick.
Although Tourniquet has appeared in many "animal rights" magazines, and magazines like Vegetarian Times, National Antivivisection Society Magazine, United Animal Nations, Animal's Agenda, etc. they do not necessarily share other organizations beliefs on religion, the New Age, etc. "What we do agree on is animals are worth protecting, and the abuse and mistreatment they often endure is worth exposing."
Our hope is that people will take a look at this issue, and decide for themselves how they can make this a better world for all God's creatures. Here are a few sites to check out and opportunities to make a difference:
This is the official Torniquet MySpace site, so thanks for stopping by! If you wish to get in contact with the band they would be more then happy to answer your questions (within reason) through their official email at www.tourniquet.net; they also post frequently and respond to questions at the official Tourniquet online forums
Any inquiries in regards for band photography, booking, radio interviews, etc. should go through the proper channels. If anyone truly wishes to contact the band and thereby aquire information for whatever that information may be must contact the band through their official website. Thanks again!
TOURNIQUET...
a surgical device for arresting hemorrhage by compression of a blood vessel...
a lifelong spiritual process by which a personal God, through the atoning blood, death, and resurrection of His only Son -Jesus Christ- can begin to stop the flow of going through life without knowing and serving our Creator. HE IS OUR TOURNIQUET
Tourniquet was formed in Los Angeles in 1990. Seven full length albums, two EP's, one acoustic album, one "Best of" album, and six videos later, the members of Tourniquet remain committed to communicating the message of the Gospel through music. Tourniquet has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades, including HM magazine's Favorite Band, two CCM magazine number 1 Rock Singles, many number 1 Metal Singles, and six Dove Award nominations. They have appeared in countless magazine, newspaper, and online publications. Known for their intense live show, their fans have been known to drive (or fly) long distances just to see the band play. As the popularity of the band increases, so does the opportunity to play international shows in Europe and South America, as well as performing in the U.S. The success of their "acoustic unplugged" shows has further advanced their strong reputation for musical integrity and versatility.
LYRICALLY - influences span a wide range-everything from Old Testatment narratives to medical allegories to Edgar Allan Poe type descriptive horror. Tourniquet has also tackled some important, unique and often controversial social issues as well. Ark of Suffering, from their very first release, created a lot of attention by addressing the biblical perspective against animal abuse. Ruminating Virulence offers hope to the severely disabled. Twilight addresses the neglect of the elderly. Most importantly, all social issues are balanced with the biblical perspective.
MUSICALLY - the span of influences is no less varied. Tourniquet's music has been classified in many different ways: from hardcore to hard rock, from technical metal to speed metal, from alternative to groove. As Tourniquet's music blends elements of all these styles, two things stand out...melody and originality. In fact the melodic incorporation of classical music into many guitar riffs has become a trademark of "the Tourniquet sound". Finally, as people, their approachability and respect for their fans lends itself to creating a comfortable common ground for discussing everything from Bach to Babylon.

Hiya guys, I hope that you had a good weekend. Please would you and your supporters pray: My friend Jackie gave birth to twins 3 weeks ago... little Ella and Christopher were born at 27 weeks, so are very very premature - both are in a special babycare unit in hospital. I had a message from Jackie this morning praising God that Ella is alive, so I guess she's had a battle thru the night... Jackie is full of faith and praising God - husband Alex has not come to faith yet, but is astounded at the love and support pouring out from the church.
Please pray for this family, especially that God would strengthen little Ella and Christopher... and protect their lives... Thank you. Dominique
