Combining talent and skill with playful imagination, Towanda's music draws you in with its compelling storytelling. Themes in the lyrics range from the sarcastic and humorous to the tragic and dramatic, something that is reflected in both the music and the band's engaging performing style.
The members of Towanda met at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in 2005, and have since created music together. The songs are based on classically inspired piano playing and haunting redhead vocals, complimented with melodic cello lines and vibrant rhythms supplied by the percussion. The name Towanda comes from the film Fried Green Tomatoes, and is a kind of warrior shout used to fight injustice and to realize your own potential.
"If you wont listen to reason, there's always Towanda!"

Produced by John Kettle (The Marble Index, Aiden Smith), and mastered by Mike Cave (Elvis Costello, The Charlatans), this gutsy indie ballad combines atmospheric piano, thumping drums and epic, sweeping vocals to create an uplifting pop anthem.
