IL GIORNO DELLA MARMOTTA
Faccio musica con risultati più o meno mediocri dal 1992. Le ultime band di cui ho fatto parte sono Joule e Kermit. Da qualche tempo mi sono avvicinato a tecniche di audio editing, registrazione e produzione, allo scopo di realizzare progetti interamente solisti. Sotto lo pseudonimo di “The T.N.T.” (acronimo che sta per “The town near Turin”: la cittadina vicino a Torino è Moncalieri, il mio cognome) ho realizzato finora un EP di quattro tracce e due album.
Il primo album, “Fog Expectations” (2008), contiene cinque cover e tre brani inediti, realizzati abbinando campionamenti e strumenti virtuali con chitarre elettriche e voci. Le cover sono “Down in the desert” (Thin white rope), “Monkey” (Low), “Flower web” (Screaming trees), “Can’t find my way home” (Blind faith, rivisitata negli anni ottanta dagli Swans) e “I feel you” (Depeche mode).
Il secondo album, di cui ho appena terminato i missaggi, si intitola “Groundhog’s Day” (il Giorno della Marmotta, quello in cui continuava a svegliarsi Bill Murray nel film “Ricomincio da capo”). Contiene quattro cover e quattro brani inediti, realizzati utilizzando chitarre prevalentemente acustiche oltre ad elettronica e campionamenti. Le cover sono versioni acustiche di “Ice cold ice” (Husker du), “Negative creep” (Nirvana), “Wave of mutilation” (Pixies) e “In the meantime” (Helmet).
GROUNDHOG'S DAYI make music with quite mediocre results since 1992. Joule and Kermit are the last bands I played with. Recently I started to train with audio editing, recording and production, in order to create full solo projects. With the pseudonym “The T.N.T.” (acronym of “The town near Turin”, which is Moncalieri, my family name) I released a four track EP and two full length albums.

The covers are acoustic versions of “Ice cold ice” (Husker du), “Negative creep” (Nirvana), “Wave of mutilation” (Pixies) and “In the meantime” (Helmet).
