In addition to John Zorn, the group's influences include Eddie Harris, Miles Davis, Can, Alice Coltrane, Steve Reich, Money Mark, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Urban Dance Squad, Trilok Gurtu, Selva Ganesh, Crawling With Tarts, Queen, Laibach, New Order, Keith Jarrett, Oregon, AYDIN ESEN, Cracker, Deep Purple and David Garibaldi (Tower of Power/Talking Drums). Danny is of course influenced by his instrument's inventor, Mr. Quintron.

none of the above influences; here are some videos:
Memo (a doctoral student in Computational Ethnomusicology from Turkey) is an accomplished percussionist with a Samba marching band, a traditional Taiko ensemble, an Afro-Cuban dance company, and a Sludge Metal band.
The group toyboat toyboat toyboat started when Travis (from The Golden Greats, Digital Knife and Bohemian Onslaught) responded to Memo's call to musician friends in Portland to make some crazy music inspired by John Zorn.
Soon, the line-up stabilized with the addition of Hank (of Failing Records) on guitar and bass, and Danny (VJ Norto of Eye Candy Music Video Museum) on Drum Buddy, keyboards and other gadgets. These new musical voices combined with Memo's diverse percussion background and Travis' spontaneous inventiveness on the trumpet and vocals to cement the toyboat toyboat toyboat sound.
