Toy Box formed in 2004 and since fought their way to make a name in the independent music scene in Toronto. From pounding the streets with posters and flyers, to independently putting together cross Canada tours to promote the indie release of their first full length record “The Assassination Of...” Toy Box is no stranger to determination and perseverance. Working with indie label Voodoo Records, distribution for their LP was locked in by Fontana North.
Over the years sharing the stage with acts Finger Eleven, Thornley, Silverstein, Idle Sons, My Darkest Days, Swollen Members, Rascals and a featured spot at Edgefest they have developed a very energetic live presence. Coupled with an animated visual, Toy Box comes with a bursting rock sound pulled off by members Deriek Simon (Vocals, Guitar), Carmine Mallia (Drums) and Duncan McIlroy (Bass).
Toy Box’s music is a very “melodically driven, hard rock”, commonly compared to Foo Fighters / Three Days Grace. Open to all genres of music the future of Toy Box’s music is ever evolving and progressing.
