About me: TOYS ARE US: A REVOLUTION IN PLASTIC is a new documentary on DVD that looks at the weird and wonderful world of designer vinyl toys. Through interviews with the artists who make them and the people who collect them, the film provides a fascinating look into a DIY scene where art and commerce collide, and where making toys isn't just kid stuff.

THE NEW DIRECTOR'S CUT features additional footage and extended interviews, as well as updated photos of toys and collections. There are also two new DVD mini-documentaries: "Toy Making 101," which looks at how ideas go from the drawing board to the toy shelf; and "An Ancient Vinyl History," which explores the roots of vinyl toys, examining the way Japanese character toys and kaiju from the Sixties and Seventies influences designers today.
In all, Toys Are Us: A Revolution in Plastic (Director's Cut) contains more than an hour of toys, creators, and collectors!

Collaborating with 4 artists in the urban art scene EGO Studios have asked them to take part in Resin Rising giving them free rein to explore ideas and experiment with concepts of creating 3D work from their art. Generating individual ranges of limited models and designer toys that will appeal to the independent culture of designer toys, these collections will be hand sculpted and produced in a high detail PU resin.
