 In the mid eighties, Ted Parsons was one of the first drummers to weave the unflinching relentlessness of a machine, into the fabric of a human groove. That approach to drumming - an aggressive, militant, dead center drive, has since become the rhythmic staple of today’s, industrial metal, electronica , dub and alternative music . First with NYC underground noise merchants Swans, then with Jim Thirwell’s Foetus Corruptus, Prong,Ray Manzarek, Bill Laswell, Bucket Head , Godflesh ,Killing Joke, NIC, Treponem Pal and a host of other groups and musicians. Ted is the artistic director for Norge Beat Sound System,a new drum show coming up fall 2010 . Ted has toured the world playing to audiences around the globe for the past 25 years. It only takes a walk through a music store, a peek at The All Music Guide or a listen to any alternative music show on college radio to understand the position these groups hold in the world of music.
