RHYTHM ATTACK MOVES
In the mid eighties, Ted Parsons was one of the first drummers to weave the unflinching relentlessness of a machine, into the fabric of a human groove. That approach to drumming - an aggressive, militant, dead center drive, has since become the rhythmic staple of today’s, industrial metal, electronica , dub and alternative music . First with NYC underground noise merchants Swans, then with Jim Thirwell’s Foetus Corruptus, Prong, Bill Laswell, Bucket Head , Godflesh ,Killing Joke and a host of other groups and musicians. Constantly on the road with many of these groups, Ted has toured the world playing to audiences around the globe for the past 20 years. It only takes a walk through a music store, a peek at The All Music Guide or a listen to any alternative music show on college radio to understand the position these groups hold in the world of music.
After the Killing Joke world tour in 2004 . Playing gigs and recording with local funk, dub crew N.I.C.. Neccesary Intergalactic Cooperation at the moment. This is a very exciting Dub/ Electronica project which has released a split album with Teledubgnosis on Malicious Damage Records in 2006.Next NIC album is recorded and will be sent off to Justin Broadrick for mixing and production summer 2009. Writing and recording for a new Teledubgnosis album are underway . Also Legedary guitarist Keith Levene founding member of the Clash and P.I.L - Public Image Ltd. /On U will work with the Teledubbies on the next release . Other guest sounds will join the recording sessions!
Ted also appears on the debut album Jesu brainchild of master mind Justin Broadrick from Godflesh, , Techno Animal and Final. This was released on Hydra Head records spring of 2005.
