    Trabant Trek's Interests
GeneralThe conception sprang from the dusty unused grey matter of John Lovejoy and John Drury after purchasing a Trabant 601 in Budapest, Hungary in June 2006 for $60 and managing to somehow coax the 26 hp automobile through seven countries in Europe from Budapest to Paris. The amount of attention attracted along the way prompted the boys into imagining more useful purposes for the eye-catching auto. In November, still pondering what they could do with a couple Trabants the preliminary idea for this project arose. Since then it has taken on a life of its own to what it is today.

STARTS JULY 15, 2007 from Zwickau, Germany and ends sometime hopefully in 2007 in Sihanoukville, Cambodia

Three plastic communist-era cars, eight intrepid explorers, 15,000 grueling miles, 20 remarkable countries covering two continents and the dream of raising $300,000 and awareness for the hardworking M'Lop Tapang and Mith Samlanh/Friends organizations and their commitment to the deprived youths of Cambodia. This is Trabant Trek.

We urge you to become a part of Trabant Trek. Add us as a friend, visit our website, support us through our message board and most of all dig into your pockets or piggy bank and click the DONATE NOW button on our website to help us help street children in Cambodia.

Every little bit of loose change donated will go directly to M'Lop Tapang and Mith Samlanh/Friends to secure a better future for these kids.

I just wanted to suggest that anyone visiting this site should donate at http://firstgiving.com/trabanttrek in the US/Canada or http://www.justgiving.com/trabanttrek in the UK. Help Trabant Trek raise the needed funds for Cambodian street children. Only a little of the amount spend over the holidays would be extremely useful. Good luck guys!!!

Hi Trekers,
I doubt you've heard the news all the way over there in China, but today is a sad day for Redskins fans. Our Safety, Sean Taylor was shot yesterday in his home in Miami and died this morning. I was going to post this just on Tony's page, but I figured John and OJ may want to know as well. I know it's hard to follow football when you're out saving the world so I thought I'd help.
Take care of yourselves out there!
Love,
Lisa p.

Just a quick message to let you know that the new DOWN FOR THE COUNT album “BROKEN RECORD TACTICS” is now available from ITUNES from the following link:

http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=257365315&s=143444

However if digital music scares you and you would rather add to your CD Collection then you can buy from PEP-ROCKRECORDS.com (Only £6.99!), HMV.co.uk, PLAY.com, AMAZON.co.uk, WOOLWORTHS.co.uk or VIRGINMEGASTORES.co.uk.

'“Broken Record Tactics” is a fun little record for fans of CARTEL and THE STARTING LINE. If you're in the mood for some chirpy, melodic pop-punk with a bit of a rockier edge, you could do a lot worse than to check them out' - Punktastic.com

I hope you don’t mind this promotional message, we promise it will be the last one for a while :-) Let us know what you think of Down For The Count, send us messages and comments and we’ll try our best to reply!
