February 15, 2008 was seriously the best night of my life.
Going to a concert to see your favorite band is one thing, but when you actually get to spend time before the concert meeting them, its just surreal. I cant even put it in words how awesome it felt to be standing right next to my favorite band in the entire world. But anyways, heres how it went.
Okay, so I had to be at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell Mass no later than four o’clock to be on time for the meet and greet. I got there at two thirty. I met some really awesome people who I was with the whole night. I was waiting outside for two hours, just waiting to get inside the arena. I get inside, and I have to wait for everyone else in the line to get patted down.This took like three minutes. After I got my ticket scanned, I had to go up some stairs and wait a few more minutes. We are finally escorted to the meeting room. The staff told us that Three Days Grace would be there shortly. They passed out photos for the band to sign, and gave us a brief talk about what was going to happen.
About five minutes later, Adam, Neil, Barry, and Brad enter the room. They make their way down the line, I am near the end. Adam was the first to sign everyones things. He walks over to where I am, and I start to choke up. I couldn’t believe that Adam was actually in front of me. He says "Hey. Whats up" I can barely say anything, I’m trying to hold back my tears, it’s not working. I finally manage to somehow say the words "Can you sign my pants?" He just looks at me and says "Sure, no problem." He bends down, gets his black sharpie, and holds my leg, making sure there were no wrinkles or anything to mess up the signature. When he was done, he said goodbye and continued around the room.
Now Barry comes over, and again, manage to say "Can you sign my pants" "Sure thing. Does it matter what side" I said "Can you sign this one please?" [holding out my left leg] "Sure." He signs, says goodbye and walks away. Neil is next. He didn’t really say much, but he was still very sweet.
Now it’s Brad’s turn. Now, I have heard that he is the sweetest guy from the band, and it’s true. He comes to me, and he holds out his hand. I shake it. I ask him to sign my pants. He does. No problem. He sees that I am all teary eyed, so he hugs me and says " Hey, it’s okay, there is no need to cry." It just amazed me that he actually wanted to hug me, I didnt have to ask.
Now it’s time for my photo with the band. The part of the night I was waiting for. The band is standing at the end of the room. I walk over, and suddenly start crying again. I couldn’t stop. I made sure the guy didn’t take the picture. Adam turned to me and said "Hey, you know you can’t cry when you get your photo taken!" "I know!" Sure enough, the picture was taken, and my part of the meet and greet was over. But I made sure my night was made by using all the guts I had to ask Adam for a hug. All I said was "Can I have a hug?" Adam goes "Absolutely, no problem." and gives me one right there. I start crying AGAIN, even harder. *picture this* I was crying on my favorite lead singer of all time. I think I might have gotten some tears on him. lol. Oh, and by the way, he smelled amazing!
Then, afterwards, I heard them playing Pain acoustic in the other room. When it was time to see Hurt, Seether, Breaking Benjamin, and Three Days Grace play, I also in the front row. It was an amazing night.
