Interests

  • General

Travel and fashion are two pursuits I enjoy almost as much as reading/writing
  • Music

All types of music get me excited: R&B, Rap, Old Skool, Reggae, Jazz, Latin, African...and some Classical!
  • Movies

I recently saw Angels and Demons and loved it! Very thought-provoking, and brilliantly edited with a great pace. I also enjoy any good horror flick (as long as it's not cheesy!)
  • Television

Grey's Anatomy, CSI and Boston Legal
  • Books

Anything by E. Lynn Harris, Eric Jerome Dickey, Ayn Rand, Ken Follet and Tom Wolfe. Reading 'Rising Tide' now and can't put it down.
  • Heroes

My Mom and Barack Obama. Those who sacrificed before us so that our generation could enjoy basic freedoms also rank high on my list.

About me:

I'm the author of six novels---just finished my 7th, "Friends and Fauxs", which will be in-stores on July 28th, 2009 (be sure to check it out!!!) At the same time, I'm also someone who appreciates the support of fans, and the pleasure of interacting with people from all walks of life. I love to travel, while having a special passion for forward-thinking initiatives concerned with economic/cultural/social development in Africa. From February through May of this year, my itinerary took me to Senegal, Mali and Burkina Faso, where I was guest lecturer/professor at Instituit Management du Superieux (based in Dakar). Even as an experienced traveler (US/EUR/AFR), this turned out to be one of the most rewarding and enlightening experiences of a lifetime! Prior to establishing my career as an author and entrepreneur, I had the pleasure of serving in executive capacities for American Express, Xerox, Johnson & Johnson and The Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG). While marriage, writing and public speaking remain primary focuses, I greatly enjoy golf, movies and relaxing with the work of fellow authors (including E. Lynn Harris, Tom Wolfe, Eric Jerome Dickey and Ayn Rand) to help fill any spare time.

Who I'd like to meet:

Nelson Mandela and.....YOU!
