Vultures has a fearsome live reputation; both in its own right and in collaboration with the likes of Steve Beresford, Z'ev, PAS, Sandeep Mishra and Ampersand. The musical path of Marco Bernacchia aka Above the Tree started with classical training when he was a kid. He soon discarded those notions favouring a personal research on noises made by instruments. Through repetitive beating and scratching on his small guitar he started researching for sounds which translated the action/contact with the instrument in something that he found interesting and captivating. Beside his solo project Marco also played with other people in noise band, discovering the pleasure of volume, but still, it’s in personal research that he aims to find his own psichedelic world through the sounds he can make with his guitar and the use of found sounds and voice. Minimal Love is Above the Tree’s second album and it’s fuelled with dreamy tracks reminding of minimal blues, folk structures and popular melodies. All tracks are apparently unbalanced, disturbed by background noises almost giving a live feeling. Minimal Love is Above the Tree’s attempt to join togheter concrète elements with old blues and psichedelia. Well, not really a new band.... There‘s already some kind of story, even of legend around them. A legend that begins in London, at the end of the previous millennium, when David Spher’Os bets on digging up the dark side of psychedelia. But closer to the Seeds than to the Beatles… Step by step, by haunting the right catacombs, Aqua Nebula Oscillator finally made the right encounters, in particular the 2 following characters. The first is Juan Trip, an atypical musician and video maker, who was the drummer of the band before becoming the producer of the record Under The Moon of... The second being Romain Turzi, who signed the band to his label “Pan European Recording” in 2007 and published their first eponymous album immediately afterwards. Since, the composition of the band did fluctuate. This resulted in the release of various CD-Rs, cassettes, 12"s and 7"s culled from many jams, rehearsals and live shows. A short run of recent cassettes 'Science & Industry' on NotNotFun and 'The Crystal Pagoda' on Sonic Meditations are into their second pressing. Our next release is the double 12" 'Gnod Dropout w/ White Hills II' on Rocket Recordings, containing tracks recorded at Dropout Studios in Camberwell, London with overdubs and mixed by Dave w. and the White Hillls heads. A second release with Rocket is due in the latter half of 2010. ..
