Tracy S. Feldman is a very energetic performer inspired by progressive rock and new folk. His music combines classical training in violin with technically interesting guitar work ranging from fast-paced and hard-edged to introspective and delicate (all self-taught). Lyrically, Tracy explores human emotion and interconnections, interweaving songs with metaphors based in a life-long love of natural history and ecology. Tracy has three recordings: "Standing Room Only" (1999), “Sea of Lucky Numbers” (2003), and "Survivin' in the 'Burbs” (2006). He is now working on a new album called "Middle of the Road", about people and experiences in the middle of the country. In addition, he has recorded fiddle with many other singer-songwriters, including Akire Bubar (“Arms of the Sun”), Brian Hershberger (“Mantle”), Mary Rocap (“Sweet Mimosa”), Laura Silvestri (“Standing”), Jamie Purnell (“Two Different Towns”), Friction Farm ("Believe"), and Project Mastana (Demo). Tracy received a Ph.D. in biology at Duke University, studying the ecology of plant-insect interactions. After studying interactions between plants, fungi, and fungal viruses in Oklahoma, he is now an assistant professor of biology at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.
“Feldman has always had a gift for bringing such strong emotion out of such quietly contemplative songs. He’s a modern version of the 60s folk poet with more passion and fire in his soul.” --Jennifer Layton, Indie Web Magazine
“Tracy strives for perfection in his lyrics.” --Jim Graves, WFSS
“Akire’s acoustic guitar work is simple yet gorgeous and is augmented nicely by such things as the perfectly arranged fiddle pieces of Tracy Feldman.” --Ray Dorsey, Chaos Realm

Happy Holidays to you and Leah! I hope the New Year brings you good health, happiness, and joy! Oh, and I love your music on here! I've known you all these years, and yet, I never knew this part of you. Very impressed! hugs!!
I really enjoyed playing at Borders last night with you! It was great to meet you. I started your CD today and I am very impressed with the performing and production. Where was it recorded? I would really like to find a local studio with good production for our style of music. Any ideas?
Once again, I really enjoyed performing with you last night. Hope we can do it again soon.
did I tell you I went on a crepuscular wander up the trail behind my apartment a week back? There were bats, and I could hear the frogs singing from the pond. It hadn't occurred to me either would be out there. There were hawks or owls or some other birds making sounds, and for a minute I thought I was in La Selva. Oh. Full moon, too. Full moon always brings the animals out :)
