Trade&Row is a Los Angeles-based 501c3 nonprofit organization established to develop and support community-oriented programs that engage current issues through the visual, performing and literary arts.
We hope to encourage greater connectivity in the Los Angeles metropolitan area and beyond by sharing resources, developing programs focused on cross-community engagement and hosting events that are accessible, inclusive and conversational.
Collaboration is the basis for projects, whereby we establish relationships with individuals and organizations working to make a positive impact. Through collaboration we assist with fiscal receivership, grant writing, website development and overall community outreach efforts.
Vision
To raise awareness of current issues
Mission
Trade&Row aims to bring communities together through the creative arts to generate meaningful dialogue on current issues and inspire ideas for change and action.
Goals
• Create spaces to share ideas
• Build a network that reflects the diversity of the community
• Promote multiple perspectives to learn more about the long-term affects of people’s everyday decisions
Models
Trade&Row works within three models: Projects, Partnerships, and Festival. Each model is designed to provide opportunities for coalition building and resource sharing in order to create relevant, enjoyable programming.
We develop and support projects with a specific community and/or cause as the focus. Projects can utilize all different media and are developed and conducted with the support of individual community members who want to highlight issues that are overlooked or underreported. Projects are punctuated with a public presentation.
Partnerships are built with other organizations to offer workshops, discussions and/or events that expose their constituents to alternative opportunities for expression to generate dialogue about issues they face.
The festival is an annual event that showcases a range of presentations and activities meant to be entertaining as well as thought-provoking. Each year the festival works under a distinctive theme inspired by current events with the intent to create a space that is accessible for community members to talk about social issues.
